Eva is Will’s aunty. She is eighteen and Will is five. They are at the beach. They
live in a small town called Whitby in England. It is on the coast. The beaches at
Whitby are lovely, with beautiful yellow sand. It is December. It is sunny, but cold.
They are wearing warm clothes, wellies, coats and hats. In the background, on the
horizon, there is a small yacht. Eva finds a big shell, it is a conch. She is holding
the conch and she is pointing to it. She tells Will that if you hold it next to your
ear, you can hear the sea. Will is excited! He wants to hear the sound of the sea.
He puts the conch next to his ear and he listens. Yes! He can hear a quiet roar,
just like the sea. After their walk along the beach, they go into town and have an
ice-cream. Will loves to spend time with his aunty Eva.
