1. Introduction
This Method Statement is intended to ensure the execution of all works during construction
of the Reinforcement concrete for Cement mill Building foundation including, formwork,
reinforcement and concrete works shall be executed safely and performed in accordance
with contract requirement and that all quality assurance/ control activities are in a systematic
manner, works are inspected and conformance is verified and documented.
2. Scope

8.1 Pre-Work
The Project shall use ALhenaki and Sinoma batch plants located in YCC project with
Construction joints:
- Construction joint materials will be submitted and approval for work sequence
SINOMA 7 / 22
8.2 Work
setting of all works shall be undertaking in accordance with the method statement and
be derived from the main grid and benchmarks established at the commencement of
the project and which shall be maintained throughout construction works by the
surveyors, a certain shift from element axis will be setting out to be used for adjusting
Formwork will be adequately supported to prevent loss of grout and to ensure the correct
profile within the limits of the dimensional tolerances specified. The design and execution of
formworks will follow the requirements of Contract documentation and relevant European
Plywood supported by the timber will be used as a form-work, and tie rod system with double
1- the backing of the fixed temple will be galvanized steel pipe Φ50×3.4mm.
SINOMA 8 / 22
2- it is very important that the formwork is well supported and strong enough to bear all
3-formwork must be aligned and braced well from all sides to keep its original shape.
5- form-work material should not be damaged or rusted, which affects the quality of
concrete finishing.
7- steel pipe will be used to secure the system to prevent the lateral movement and
therefore to seal the top part of the foundation. As per fig below.

❖ All raw materials used to make concrete shall be measured accurately in batching
plant, and the measure system shall be checked regularly according to relevant
❖ Enough aggregate, sand, stone, water + admixtures shall be prepared before work
casting.
❖ Inspect and observe concrete uniformity and slump as per standard requirement,
take concrete testing sample on site and conduct curing in curing room. The testing

❖ Concrete mixer trucks are applied for horizontal concrete transportation: There are
8 vehicles at site, with 10 m3 capacity can be delivered each time for each one,
the transportation time from batching plant to work site is about 10 minutes. For

❖ Self-inspection shall be carried out very carefully and strictly according to the
approved drawing and relevant local standard before requesting consultant for
inspection.
❖ The form shall be well cleaned to be free of detritus, sawdust, standing water or
other sundries. In order to prevent concrete leakage, the joints between forms
shall be completely tight, any big gaps or holes found shall be well sealed
instantly. The forms shall be wetted to a damp condition before concrete pouring.
if admixture is needed.
Concrete pouring shall be started after the owner/ consultant gives the orders and concrete
delivery list. We will have two pumps for casting, each pump will start opposite to the other,
SINOMA 14 / 22
the sequence of casting will be from the nearest edge adjusted to the pump towards the far
foundations edge. Eventually the two pumps will meet in the middle of the foundation by the
completion of each layer. By this method will minimize the concrete pressure on the one side
of the shuttering and distribute the concrete evenly on the foundation area without causing
any kind of segregation or cold joint. “See the attached layout”. Three vibrators are arranged
for each pump, at the front, middle and back of each concrete pouring band. The foundation
will be casted in two stage “see the section A-A “. firstly 0.8 m thickness will be poured in 3
layers. Then we will have time gab between the two stage which will not be more than the
initial setting time in order to make the base of the stage two stiff enough to carry the concrete
above. Secondly 1.2 m from the foundation will be poured in 4 layers. The concrete is poured
in layers, advancing horizontally layer by layer. The thickness of each layer is not more than
300mm and strictly controlled by calipers on site. The interval time of each layer of concrete
pouring shall not exceed the initial-set time of the previous layer of concrete (the initial-set
time of concrete is generally (3h), and the pouring shall be carried out after the second
vibration of the previous layer of concrete. Each layer of pouring shall be closed and vibrated
in place at the pouring joint. Date and time should be announced 24 hours prior to casting to
get all parties ready. vibration of the concrete shall be applied using either petrol or electrical

vertically only and the inserting vibrator’s moving radius should be not more than

between vibrator and side formwork should be kept 5 to 10cm and be aware of

The top of the concrete will be covered with plastic sheets to avoid evaporation of the
water the outer concrete, water spray below and above the plastic sheet will be applied.
Above this sheet Geotextile will be placed to keep the surface moist for a long period of

method therefore the form-work will prevent the evaporation of the water from the
1) Safety education
SINOMA 19 / 22
Safety regulations (BS EN 1004-2004) must be carried out to improve consciousness of
safety production and civilized construction. The concept of safety first has to be embedded
into all. At the same time, the following measures will be continually insisted: safety
education for construction workers before they enter into site, request for license of special
The safety officer shall inspect the execution of safety measures with the cooperation of
civil engineers and foremen every day. Any hidden danger found will be dealt with
immediately. Every working group will attend a safety meeting on each Monday, which
aimed at summarizing possible hidden danger of past week and try to improve it in the
future. At the same time, precautions will be taken and hidden danger will be recorded.
1) Before the scaffolding construction, work team is required to take safety training, and
safety engineer shall state the safety issues during work. With safety engineer’s field
survey to obtain authorization to start the scaffolding work. If any unsafe factors appear
in construction process, the safety engineer or site coordinator must stop and correct it.
Safety Engineer must inspect access and safe passage to the scaffolding before using
them. All scaffolds must be inspected by foreman prior to use-after erection and each
day. (Before used every working day) All scaffolds must be inspected by safety engineer
prior to use every seven days and made in a scaffold register. And also it shall be

engineer.
2) All workers in construction site shall wear helmet, working clothes, safety shoes.
Workers working high above the ground shall wear safety belts;
3) Labors with high blood pressure, heart disease or other conditions which are not suited
for the work high above the ground shall not participate in the work high above the
ground;
