After checking the assignment ask the students the following
questions:
1. How to find the solutions of a quadratic equations?
2. What are methods of finding the roots of a quadratic equations
or solving the quadratic equations?
E. Review on the standard form of Quadratic Equation
ax2 + bx + c = 0 and the four method in solving the roots of

Intro. Activity 1: (Group Activity)

SET ME TO YOUR STANDARD!

 The students will group themselves into 3 and recall how to

write quadratic equation into standard form.

 Each group will be given an equation to be transformed to

standard form.
C. Lesson Proper Group 1 – x (x - 4) = 60 Ans. x2 – 4x – 60 = 0
Activity Group 2 – x2 – 24 = 8 Ans. x2 – 16 = 0
Group 3 - (x + 3) (x + 4) = 0 Ans. x2 + 7x + 12 = 0

Questions:
1. How did you write each quadratic equation in standard form?
2. What mathematical concepts or principles did you apply to write
quadratic equation in standard form?
3. Which quadratic equations did you find difficult to write in
standard form? Why?
Activity 2: (Group Activity)
SOLVE ME!

 Each group should solve the roots of the given equation based
on the assigned method.
Group 1 – Factoring Ans. x = 10, -6
Group 2 – Extracting the square root Ans. x = 4, -4
Group 3 – Quadratic Formula Ans. x = 25, 24

Questions:
1. How did you find the roots of the quadratic equations?
2. Which quadratic equation do you think difficult to solve?
Easiest to solve? Why?

Note:
 The teacher will present a video lesson to the class.
(Discussion.)

 Clarification and more examples will be given by the

teacher.

IV. ABSTRACTION
1. How did you transform each equation into the standard form of
quadratic equation? What mathematical concepts did you
apply?
2. Did you find any difficulty in transforming each equation into
quadratic equation?
3. How did you determine the roots/solutions of quadratic
equations not in standard form?

V. Application
Note:
 The teacher will present a video for more interactive
discussion/activity.
