STUDENT ACTIVITY HOUSE RULES


ON-CAMPUS ACTIVITIES UNTIL 9:00 PM

A. Safety and Security Guidelines

1. Organizers are advised to conduct pre-departure/trip orientation for participants on safety precaution and
other related matters.
2. Organizers should conduct site visit and coordination with local authorities, and to be mindful of risks in
the area and other important concerns like where the nearest hospital and police stations are, where the
barangay hall and tanod posts are, etc.
3. Organizers should keep a Participants’ Directory, with the following information: contact information of
participants and emergency contact person, medical/health concern, food diet/allergies, etc.
4. Participating students of off-campus and/or overnight activities are required to submit their Parent’s
Permit to confirm their participation in the activity. The moderator must ensure that students without permit
will not be allowed to join.
5. The organizers should ensure that there is an attending faculty/staff throughout the activity.
6. When there are imminent threat to the safety and security of students, whether natural or man-made, the
City College of Ormoc has the authority to suspend or cancel student activities.
7. The organizers are required to bring a medical first aid kit and must be knowledgeable in basic first aid.
8. Organizers and participants should choose only licensed drivers and vehicles for traveling.
9. Life vests must be utilized in case there is a need to travel by water or in swimming. Swimming is
prohibited if it is not related to the goals of the activity.
10. Communication gadgets such as cellphones should also be employed.
11. Organizers and moderator should make sure that participants go home safely after the activity (i.e.
hiring a vehicle with valid licenses to bring students home, coordinating with parents/guardians to pick up
students from the venue, checking via phone call or text if students have arrived home).
12. Participants should be made aware of procedures in case of emergencies during the activity (e.g. fire
and earthquake drills).
13. Participants are expected to follow the itinerary of the activity and comply with the rules set by the
organizers.
14. If the student has any health concerns that may affect his/her participation in the activity, he/she must
inform the organization ahead of time and make sure he/she brings medicines and indicate contact persons
for emergencies.
15. If the activity requires strenuous activities, the organizers may require medical certificate.
16. The City College of Ormoc shall not be held liable for any injury resulting from accidents caused by
human error or equipment failure or by force majeure during transport of participants. Likewise, it shall not
be held liable for the health and safety of the participants should he/she decide to leave the venue where the
participants are officially staying without the express permission of the authorized City College of Ormoc
personnel (faculty/staff moderator). It shall not be held liable for any untoward incident as a result of the
participants’ noncompliance to any rules and regulations of the school or event.
B. Activity Decorum

1. Organizers and participants should at all times conduct themselves in a manner befitting of CCOnians.
2. Attendance, full attention and cooperation are expected from all participants in all activities of the
program.
3. Participants should observe phone and technology ethics should be observed. Participants should avoid
unnecessary use and display of gadgets.
4. Drinking of alcoholic or intoxicating beverages, smoking (including electronic cigarette) and gambling
are prohibited in all school-sanctioned activities, including those that are held outside the campus.
Attending faculty or staff should never tolerate or initiate these prohibited acts.
5. Any form of public immorality (e.g. gross display of affection, nudity, bad mouthing) is prohibited
6. Organizers and participants should respect the community’s culture, rules and locals.
7. Organizers and participants are discouraged from offering financial support, promises or commitment to
any individual or the community.

C. Activity Schedule

1. The activity should start and end on time, and avoid extension of time.
2. Students are expected to be punctual at all times to avoid delays in the schedule.
3. Participant should not be allowed to leave before the last activity, except for emergencies. Hence,
participants must be advised to free their schedule solely for the event.
4. For night activities outside Ormoc City, organizers should consider the travel time from the venue of the
activity to the houses of the participants who should be home before midnight.

D. Activity Venue

1. Participants are discouraged to explore areas not included in the activity.


2. Participants should abide by the rules and regulations of host institution or external activity organizers (if
applicable).
3. Participants should observe the Clean as you go (CLAYGO) practice and proper waste disposal.
4. Organizers should restore venue after use.
5. No one is allowed to leave the vicinity of the area without the permission of the moderator/head and until
the activity ends.
6. There should be separate sleeping quarters/areas for males and for females.

E. Activity Attire

1. The School ID/Official Activity ID must be worn at all times.


2. Appropriate attire must be follow on the activity.
3. Christian/Muslims denomination may exercise his/her right on to choose the attire prescribe by his/her
religion.

F. Valuables

1. Participants are responsible for all their belongings/valuables. The school/organizers shall not be
responsible for any loss or damage to the participants’ belongings/valuables.
2. Cellphones and some gadgets may be allowed but at participants’ risk. These gadgets, however, must
only be used during break times and emergencies.

G. Dining

1. Participants should inform the organizers if they have special diet and food allergies.
2. In using disposable wares for eating, organizers should avoid styrofoams and use paper cups and plates
instead.

H. Activity Fees

1. The budget breakdown of the activity and its source must be included in the activity proposal. If there are
fees to be collected from students, it has to be known to students. The activity proposal must state where
proceeds will be used, how it will be collected, and who will collect it.
2. Fund-raising activities are not conducted for private gains of individuals or profit in business. Thus,
activity proposals must also indicate where profits will be utilized and liquidation report must be submitted
after the activity.
3. Contracts (e.g. with external agencies in tours) must be checked by OSA before they can be signed.

As the event is an official school activity, other rules and regulations explicitly stated in the City College
of Ormoc Student Handbook shall apply.
