Everyone has a reason for going into their chosen profession especially in nursing and it is not always

easy to determine the working environment that will suit you best. Due to demand in our healthcare
system there’s a lot of nursing careers you can choose aside from being a hospital nurse not only here in
the Philippines but also abroad.

After my graduation in 2011 and after I pass my boards, I immediately worked in Hospital for more than
3 yrs. I worked as a volunteer for 2 years and under job order for 1 year. As a hospital nurse, you will
work in a critical care position, alongside surgeons and other high-pressure jobs. Depending on what
area of hospital you work in, you may be pull out to ER or in area they need you. At some point I
decided to change my career because of the salary they offer.

I worked in different call centers in Clark and one of them was being a triage nurse. We received call
from nurse in skilled nursing facilities from US and we patched them with our doctors in case of
emergency. I also worked in Emirate Medical Services which lasted only less than year.

Throughout my experiences as a nurse even if it’s positive or negative it helps me where I am stand right
now and I don’t regret it. Right now, I worked as an office nurse which I really enjoy.

Working in a hospital or in different careers of nursing each have their own advantages and
disadvantages, but subjectively plays a massive role. Regardless of where you see yourself, hospitals/
clinics and office desire the same things: passion, ambition and professionalism
