PROJECT PROPOSAL
(SY 2020-2021)
I. TITLE: CORN PRODUCTION
II. OBJECTIVES:
1. To give additional income for the school;
2. To demonstrate skills and technical-know-how in corn farming.
III.RATIONALE:
Corn is the second most important crop in the Philippines. About 14 million Filipinos
prefer white corn as their main staple and yellow corn accounts for about 50% of livestock
mixed feeds. Some 600,000 farm households depend on corn as a major source of livelihood,
in addition to transport services, traders, processors and agricultural input suppliers who
directly benefit from corn production, processing, marketing and distribution.
Overall strategy is to fast track the expansion of hybrid corn to achieve food and feed
self-sufficiency, enhance the competitiveness of the domestic livestock and poultry sectors
through cheaper feed inputs as well as generate jobs in rural communities.
V. ESTIMATED EXPENSES:
A. Corn Seeds (NK 6410)- 1 bag @5,000/Bag - Php 5,000.00
B. Land Preparation/Irrigation
The School four-wheel tractor and the Hand tractor will be utilize in the land
preparation.
Fuel:
1. Diesel Fuel - 40 liters @ 30/liter - 1,200.00
C. Fertilizer:
Basal
Complete - 4 bags @ 1,200/bag - 4,800.00
Muriate of Potash - 1 bag @ 1,000/bag - 1,000.00
Side Dress
Urea - 2 bags @ 1,100/bag - 2,200.00
D. Herbicide:
Round-Up - 2 litters @ 1,200/litters - 2,400.00
E. Harvesting
5000 per 1/ha. x .5 ha - 2,500.00
