Prognosis MDR TB

The treatment success rate in patients with non MDR TB Infections was higher than MDR-TB
infections (1). Treating patients with multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) strains is more
complicated, complex, toxic, expensive, than treating patients with suspectable TB strains.
Previous use of second- line drugs have been documented as significant risk factors for poor
treatment outcome due to the development of more drug resistance (2). People who has HIV-
Positive, male gender, smoking, diabetes history, alcoholic, lower education has higher risk
factors for poor outcome and increase of death in populations, but good outcome will be reached
if the patient use MDR TB therapy at least 18 months, directly observed therapy throughout
treatment,no previous treatment and being educated about their situations (3) (4).
