When it becomes necessary to report a defect or damage to OEM it
is important that a recognized procedure is used. This procedure
will ensure that:

- OEM has all the information necessary to provide a suitable and

safe repair
- the repair information is available to the operator as quickly as
possible, ensuring the aircraft 'down time' is kept to a minimum
where necessary, action is taken to prevent further occurrences of
the defect/damage.
- the structure identification section of the Structural Repair Manual
(SRM) should be used where possible to identify and locate the
item/area affected by the defect/damage. Other technical
documents may also be used, for example, Aircraft Maintenance
Manual (AMM), or Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC).

Reporting Methods
Various methods can be used to send a report, these are:

Whenever possible, this method should be used to send the report.
It enables the reporter to provide AIRBUS with all required
information, including illustrations immediately.

This method should be preferred when techrequest is not available.
Photographs are to be used in addition to the damage report for
