Next-generation battery cell leakage testing

Direct detection of electrolyte leakage

– Can detect leaks down to approx. 1-5 µm, equivalent to a smallest
detectable helium leak rate of 1·10-6 mbar·l/s
– Uses underpressure (5 mbar abs.) to drive electrolyte vapors out of the
battery cell
– Uses mass spectrometry to detect electrolyte solvents (DMC, DEC, EMC,
PP, etc)
@ CELLFAB
Traceable results
– Calibration with electrolyte solvent test leak
– Leak test result is compared with trigger value and good / not good result is
shown
– All test data is stored and ready for export
