SCOPE AND AUTHORITY

- Location: Dahej , Gujarat


REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
 Report to: Manager Maintenance
 Supervises:
o NO direct report
o 5-10 Contractors /suppliers based on job activity

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Incumbent has the authority to enforce corrective action and ensure these job expectations are met and
enforced in order to facilitate effective environmental, safety and quality management systems.

Safety:
ISO 14001 ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM/EMPLOYEE RESPONSIBILITY:

- Understand the importance of conformance with the environmental policy relevant procedures and the
requirements of the EMS (Environmental Management System).
- Understand the environmental impacts associated with their work activities and the environmental
benefits of improved personal performance.
- Understand their role in achieving conformance with the environmental policy, relevant procedures, and
the requirements of the EMS, including preparedness and response.
- Understand the potential consequences of deviation from specified operating procedures.
- Immediately report any accidents and release to the Supervisor.
- Recognize that adhering to job responsibilities and procedures regarding environmental, health and
safety is a condition of employment.
- Knowledge of PSM requirements and compliance.
- Comply with all environmental, safety, and health rules, policies, and programs established by the
company to the extent of training received.

Quality
Providing customers with products and services that meet or exceed their expectations achieved through:
- Use of a quality management system that is primarily based on prevention rather than detection
- Use of focused process improvement methodologies to product quality and process optimization
- Continued improvement of processes at all levels of the organization

EXPECTATIONS
Facilitate development of the business / facility maintenance strategy, and solves reliability and
availability losses through application of reliability technology and tools to enable the plant to meet its
business plan and strategy and therefore the customer’s need. This result is achieved by focusing on

those opportunities that over a long-term period or historically has impacted the plant’s measured asset
capability and the opportunities identified as "high-risk" in risk assessments, reliability models, etc.

- Develop, implement, and monitor programs such as Preventive Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance,
Reliability-Centered Maintenance, Condition-Based Maintenance, Total Productive Maintenance, and
FMEA programs.

- Analyze maintenance data to identify trends in equipment and organizational performance. Use results
to develop equipment maintenance strategies to optimize equipment uptime, reliability, and efficiency
to achieve business goals.

- Develop key maintenance and reliability measurements and set targets used to measure progress against
the maintenance strategies

- Conduct investigations and lead RCA (root cause analysis) of equipment failures that affect product
quality, equipment uptime and plant capacity. Monitors the effectiveness of the corrective actions.

- Support capital projects with specification and design reviews with a special focus on equipment
maintenance and reliability.

- Develop project alternatives, scopes of work and financial justification for projects. Assist in developing
capital project programs for new equipment and major repairs.

- Develop and own the critical spare part list. Uses long term cost of ownership and reliability engineering
principles to set a spare parts strategy and optimize spare parts stockage levels.

- Partners with Process Technology Center (PTC) to perform advanced troubleshooting and improve and
document operating discipline.

- Participate in the creation, review and implementation of best practices Maintenance procedures and
policies to be used across Sites with the Process Technology Center (PTC). Identify improvement
opportinities from global reliability forum and own its implementation.

- Serves as the implementation arm of the Process Technology Center. This includes serving as the local
focal point for Most Effective Technology (MET) implementation, new development and Hazops follow-
up.

- Works to develop Best Practices in maintenance and reliability to be applied across all areas of the
business. Liaison with engineers, operators, and others to discuss existing or potential engineering
projects

- Ensuring  mechanical integrity  of pressure vessels, lifting tools and tackles, flame arresters, safety valve
and emergency interlocks.

- Provide technical expertise to plant personnel on troubleshooting failures, repairs and evaluating
equipment.

- Assist in identifying and providing training to maintenance and production related to improving asset
reliability.

- Maintains, owns, and reviews daily Key Process Indicators (KPI)/ trends to ensure optimum performance.

- Leads the CMMS (MPulse) for creation of history data for equipment data analysis which will give more
meaningful results.

- Assist Mainetance manager and other teams in various aspects of equipment’s reliabity (breakown,
hitsry, mainteance systems implementaion, and cost analysis of mainetance cost center)

- Effective communication, Analytical, Good Interpersonal relationship, High Self structured and Proactive.

Administration
- Manage multiple external suppliers for equipment’s breakdwn support (if neeed) and coordination with
cross-functional teams across geographically dispersed locations.

Working Conditions
- Manufacturing plant setting that would require working in a production environment. Work will require
standing and walking for up to 80% of the time. Lighting and temperature is adequate. Exerting up to 10
pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount to force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or
otherwise move objects, including the human body.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 


Education:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering required from an accredited college or university, Mechanical preferred

Professional experience:
- Minimum 5 to 6 years of experience directly involved with maintenance activities, reliability.
- Project management and problem solving experience.
- Strong commitment to PDCA methodology

Languages:
- English, Hindi (verbal and written), Gujarati as added advantage

Know-how:
- Process instruction and reports writing ability
- Solid engineering principles as they apply to the process
- Knowledge of mechanical engineering (ASME) standards
- Ability to analyze data to simplify complex problems
- Problem solving skills
- DFMEA
- Computerized Assisted Drawing ( AUTOCAD) skills
