    “Forgive Me”

    Forgive me, Father,


    for I have sinned.
    I’ve run away from mother,
    for when will I finally be ringed?

    Starting anew feels like lemonade


    on a warm summer day.
    Sour and sweet do not separate
    in my measures of betray.

    C’est la vie as the French would say.


    I have not lived at all!
    Staying would have me decay.
    “I deserve this freedom”, I bawl.

    A journey to find a significant other


    Father, guide this 32 year old, kindly.
    Keep my deranged mother safe, bless her.
    I hope ‘he’ loves me irrevocably.

    I pray for a man committed only to me.


    He does not have to be wealthy
    but should be capable to a fair degree.
    One day, if mother finds me, I hope he does not flee.

    For now, Father, I will persevere


    to regain control of this life.
    My mind is at a state of war.
    In these desperate means of being a wife.

    Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned.


    Why have I left Mother all alone?
    What I have done leaves me chagrined.
    But I needed to leave the comforts and that prison of a home.
