1. Use of facility for reception

Refers to the use of a specific space inside a funeral home or other funeral facility
for a gathering or reception following a funeral. After the funeral service, family and friends
frequently meet here for a reception or other get-together to exchange stories, express
sympathy, and provide support for one another. The supply of basic facilities like tables
and chairs as well as any necessary equipment for audio-visual presentations or other
activities is included in the usage of the facility in the reception. Funeral services provide
this assistance to families through their difficult time and give them a place to come
together and honor the life of their loved one.

2. Make up and Dressing

In order to enhance the deceased person's looks and give them a natural-looking
appearance, makeup is applied to their hands and face throughout this process. In order
to minimize the look of any swelling or discoloration brought on by the person's illness or
the embalming procedure, this may involve using techniques like contouring and color
correction. During the dressing stage of this procedure, the deceased person is
meticulously dressed, taking into account any special instructions from the family. The
apparel might come from the stock of the funeral home. The funeral service industry
places a high value on makeup and dressing because it enables families to say their final
goodbyes in a dignified way and see their loved one. The best possible care, respect, and
professionalism are required when providing these services by funeral directors and
embalmers in order to respect the family's wishes and present the deceased person in a
way that honors their life and memory.

3. Transportation

Refers to the procedure of relocating the deceased, mourners, and funeral staff
during the funeral service or preparations. For the departed and their family members to
be transferred securely and with respect, funeral houses and funeral directors play a
crucial role in providing transportation services. The transportation of the deceased to the
funeral home from the place of death, as well as the transportation of the deceased to the
cemetery or crematory for the final disposition, are all examples of transportation services
in the context of funeral services. Transporting family members to the funeral service or
procession is one service that funeral directors may offer to mourners.

4. Embalming

In the funeral care industry, embalming is a procedure that is frequently used to

preserve a deceased person's body for viewing, visitation, and funeral ceremonies. In
order to clean the body and temporarily halt the decomposition process, a cocktail of
chemicals, including formaldehyde, are injected into the circulatory system of the
deceased. Any biological fluids or gases are normally removed before the chemical
combination is injected into the body's arteries to embalm the body. The deceased
person's look may also be enhanced for viewing using topical applications like cosmetics
or restorative methods.
Products:
1. Insurance

Insurance is a term used to describe a form of monetary security that aids in

defraying funeral expenses. A sort of life insurance policy called "funeral insurance" is
often used to pay for funeral costs and other related expenses. Regular premium
payments are made by the policyholder, and in the case of their demise, the policy pays
out a predetermined sum to cover funeral costs. This can cover the price of the casket,
the burial or cremation service, embalming, the funeral, and any other related expenses.
Funeral insurance is frequently promoted as a solution to lessen families' financial
burdens during a trying time and to guarantee that funeral costs are covered without
putting pressure on loved ones.

2. Memorial lot

A "memorial lot" is typically referred to in the funeral service industry as a section

of a cemetery or memorial park that is set aside for the erection of memorial markers or
plaques to commemorate the life of a loved one who has been cremated or whose
remains are not interred in a traditional burial plot. The use of memorial lots enables
families to have a permanent place to visit and honor the memory of their loved one, even
if they have chosen cremation or not. The cemetery staff or the decedent's family may
maintain memorial lots that can be purchased through the cemetery or memorial park.

3. Flowers

Flowers are arrangements of plants, flowers, and other botanical components that
are used as a tribute to the deceased during funeral services, visitations, or memorials.
This term is used in the funeral service industry. Flowers have played a significant role in
funeral customs for many years, and they are frequently given to mourning families as
tokens of compassion and support.

4. Decorations

The use of flowers, plants, and other decorative items to create an aesthetically
pleasing and dignified atmosphere for the funeral service or visitation is referred to as
"decoration" in the funeral care industry. Decorating is crucial in helping to honor the
deceased, comfort the bereaved family and friends, and foster a quiet and tranquil
environment during a difficult time. Flowers are a customary and frequent funeral
ceremony décor that are used to show sympathy and represent the beauty and frailty of
life. Candles, ribbons, curtains, and memorial displays are some other decorating options.
These ornaments can be used to make a unique and heartfelt memorial to the deceased,
expressing their character, passions, and life story.

5. Casket

A casket's functions include protecting the corpse of the deceased, offering a

respectable and polite way to show the deceased during the visitation or funeral service,
and acting as a focal point for the deceased's family and friends to grieve and remember
him or her. The choice of a casket is determined by the deceased's family in accordance
with their own personal tastes, financial constraints, and cultural or religious customs. The
family might receive help from funeral directors or other industry experts in choosing a
coffin that suits their needs and tastes.

UNIQUENESS AND COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGES

Funeral services are a way for loved ones to honor and remember the life of a
person who has passed away. While there are certain common elements that are typically
included in most funeral services, such as a eulogy, music, and a final resting place, the
unique aspects of a Fopati funeral service are often what make it truly special and
meaningful. We offer personalized touches adding personal touches that reflect the life
and interests of the deceased can make the funeral service more meaningful. For
example, displaying personal items or photographs can help to create a sense of
connection to the person being remembered. Cultural or religious traditions including
cultural or religious traditions that are important to the family can make the funeral service
feel more authentic and meaningful. This can include rituals or prayers that are specific
to a certain religion or culture. Alternative venues holding the funeral service in a location
that was special to the deceased can add a unique element to the event. For example,
holding the service in a favorite park or on a beach may be more meaningful than a
traditional funeral home. Also, personalized ceremony creating a ceremony that reflects
the values and beliefs of the deceased can make the service more unique. This can
include incorporating readings or music that reflect the person's interests or beliefs.
Ultimately, the uniqueness of a funeral service comes down to the individual being
remembered and the preferences of their loved ones. By including personal touches and
traditions that are meaningful to the family, a funeral service can become a truly special

Funeral homes are businesses that provide services related to funeral and burial
arrangements for the deceased. This industry is highly competitive, with a large number
of funeral homes competing for customers. The competition is primarily driven by factors
such as pricing, location, reputation, and the range of services offered. One of the key
factors in the competition between funeral homes is pricing. Funeral homes typically offer
a range of packages and services at different price points, and customers will often
compare prices between different funeral homes to find the best value for their money.
Location is another important factor in the competition between funeral homes. Funeral
homes that are located in highly populated areas or near areas with a high concentration
of elderly residents may have an advantage over those located in less densely populated
areas.

Reputation is also crucial for funeral homes. A good reputation can be built over
time by providing excellent customer service, attention to detail, and high-quality funeral
services. Funeral homes that have a strong reputation are more likely to attract customers
than those with a poor reputation. Finally, the range of services offered by a funeral home
can be a differentiator in the competition between funeral homes. Some funeral homes
may offer more extensive services, such as pre-planning and grief counseling, which can
be attractive to customers who are looking for a more comprehensive experience. Others
may focus on providing a more personalized experience, such as offering customized
caskets or unique funeral arrangements.

OPERATIONAL PLAN
A. Description of company’s operating

Fopati funeral home will have an immediate need at a minimum for specialized to
help facilitate the proper case and handling of human remains. The equipment as follows.

Embalming refers to the preservation of human remains via inhibiting

decomposition with the use of chemicals for the purpose of medical education or social
reasons (e.g., funeral service). The equipment is as follows: embalming machine,
preparation table, instrument, chemicals, body hoist, specialized plumbing fixtures and
cargo lift. A special utility vehicle will be used to ensure the safety of the human body.
Embalming involves the preservation of the entire human body, and is associated with
three goals

Sanitization: Sanitizing the body during embalming involves washing the body in
antimicrobial and disinfectant solutions. This process is performed in order to delay
decomposition, as well as eliminate potential odors caused by bacterial species.

Preservation: Preservation of the body during embalming involves the removal of

the blood and interstitial fluid, and replacing it with embalming fluid. Although the body
will eventually decompose, such chemicals are able to temporarily preserve the body in
its most recent condition.
Presentation: Presentation during embalming typically involves preparing the body
for viewing during funeral services. During this process, the embalmer will stage the body
by massaging the limbs to dispel the signs of rigor mortis, set the facial expression, shave
the body, style the hair, dress the body, and apply make-up to create a more life-like
appearance.

B. Flow of service operating process

Step 1: Verification of Death

The first step in the embalming process is to verify whether the deceased is in fact
dead. The presence of clouded eyes, rigor mortis, lack of a pulse, and general
unresponsiveness. The identification of the deceased is verified via hand and foot tags.

Step 2: Wash and Massage the Body

The clothes and personal effects are removed and the body is then sanitized using
an antimicrobial detergent. The orifices (e.g., mouth) are rinsed carefully. The limbs are
massaged to alleviate the signs of rigor mortis.

Step 3: Setting the Features

The embalmer poses the eyes in a closed position using a specialized eye cap.
The lips are shut either by suturing, wiring, or an adhesive. The face is shaved to remove
any visible stray hairs.

Step 4: Injection of Embalming Fluid

The embalmer temporarily preserves the body by injecting chemicals into the
vessels and peritoneal cavity of the body. There are several different methods of injecting
embalming fluid

Arterial embalming:

Arterial embalming involves injecting the embalming fluid into the carotid artery
using a centrifugal pump to displace the blood, which drains through the right jugular vein.
Any clots present in the vessels are massaged out to ensure that the embalming fluid is
evenly distributed throughout the body. Although injecting the embalming fluid can
typically be achieved via a single injection, in some cases, multiple injection sites are
required to ensure that the embalming fluid is completely distributed. A typical body can
hold approximately two liters of embalming fluid. The fluid is pumped into the body using
a specialized machine that monitors the pressure of the vessels during the process.
Although the machine is typically sufficient, a hypodermic needle is occasionally required
to inject embalming fluid into locations that may not have been reached.
Cavity Embalming:

The body cavity is performed by making an incision in the abdomen above the
navel. A trocar is inserted into the incision and the contents of the organs are aspirated.
The peritoneal cavity is then filled with concentrated embalming fluid and closed by
suturing or the use of a trocar button.

Surface Embalming:

Surface embalming refers to the application of embalming fluid to the skin of the
deceased body to preserve damage suffered during autopsy, the removal of organs for
donation, or disease

Step 5: Application of Cosmetics

As a last step, the embalmer will apply a moisturizer and various cosmetics to hide
a discoloration of the skin and achieve a more natural appearance of the body. Often, the
embalmer will request a recent photograph in order to apply cosmetics in a way that will
most closely represent the deceased individual. Since there is a lack of circulation, make-
up is used to add color and depth to the skin and face of the body. The hair is styled using
oils and gels and power may be applied to cover any unpleasant odors. The body is
dressed in formal clothes for viewing purposes.

C. Promotion
It's essential to use a variety of marketing channels to advertise funeral homes and
related businesses. In today's cutthroat industry, relying exclusively on word-of-mouth
may not be sufficient. Similar to promoting a cattle business, it's critical to employ a
variety of strategies in order to be successful. The funeral home can improve its
visibility and reputation in the neighborhood by putting into action a thorough
marketing strategy. To raise brand awareness and draw in potential consumers, a
fopati funeral home's marketing strategy may introduce a variety of promotional
tactics.
1. Website
A website that is easy to use will be launched. This will be helpful because
the targeted audience will be reached and we all know that the majority of
people who conduct internet searches are likely to find the website. In order to
attract customers online, the website must contain all necessary information
about the goods and services provided, such as location, hours of operation,
facilities, etc.
2. Social Media

like Facebook and Instagram to advertise their offerings, provide client
advertising, and give their followers useful information. They can promote
certain offers via social media as well.
3. Tarpaulin
Tarpaulin is one of the effective promotional strategy for funeral service
businesses. Tarpaulins are large, durable sheets of material that can be used
to create eye-catching banners that can be displayed in prominent locations. It
can help to make an excellent way to increase brand recognition and promote
the fopati funeral home & services to potential customers.
4. Referrals
This may be associated with word-of-mouth advertising because they were
pleased with the great service they received, current customers will tell their
friends and coworkers regarding the business. They can do this by sharing their
positive experiences on social media. This can be done in exchange by offering
referral discounts so that they can tell their friends and family about it. This will
benefit both parties and the campaign will be low-cost or free.
D. Product forecast

The following section pertains to forecasting a potential increase in the number of

customers for a funeral business over the course of one year. It is anticipated that
there will be an increase in customer demand during specific months, namely January
to December, includes holidays such as New Year and Christmas season in the
country. By enhancing and optimizing the promotional strategies outlined in the
business plan, the funeral home aims to achieve a 50% increase in sales.

E. Controls

Controlling a corporation entails monitoring its development toward achieving its

objectives. This includes keeping eyes on how a plan is being carried out and fixing any
inconsistencies from it.

Monitor Customer Feedback

Marketing is used to convince customers to invest in a good or purchase a service.

Polls and surveys are used as a control in every marketing plan to keep an eye on
customer feedback. By conducting online polls about the most recent marketing plan, we
can indirectly reach our clients. The opposite is true for surveys, which can be carried out
through individual phone or face-to-face interviews. Include the research's conclusions in
your marketing plan. When a new company image is used in a marketing campaign and
consumer feedback indicates that the image is disliked, the image should be removed
from the marketing plan

Target Market Sales

In fopati funeral home and services, sales are quantified by the number of clients
served. The target market sales of a funeral home and services pertains to the specific
group of customers that the business aims to serve and generate revenue from. Fopati
funeral homes and services typically target individuals who are in need of funeral or
related services, such as those who have recently lost a loved one or are making pre-
need arrangements for their own funeral. Every marketing strategy aims to figure out how
the strategy will affect the target market. This is done again through market research or
with the help of partners at the point of sale. Actual sales in the target market are
compared to marketing plan forecasts to determine if any adjustments are required. If
sales are declining, more market analysis is required to determine why the target market
isn't responding to the advertising. In some cases, analyzing a demographic breakdown
of sales may show that the original target market was off, leading to the creation of a new
target market.

Budget and Monitoring Spending

A marketing budget balances the cost of creating advertisements with the income
produced by the marketing strategy. Some examples of controls that can be used to keep
an eye on a marketing budget include print advertising fees, travel costs for trade shows,
the price of market research studies, and internal staff costs for the company's marketing
department. All of these factors need to be carefully monitored in order to reduce costs
and boost earnings. You can monitor expenses to adhere to your spending plan and
identify the sources of any increases.
