Yes, it can be separated through distillation method. In a distillation, the
mixture is heated over a Bunsen burner. Because the 2 solutions in a mixture
have different boiling points, one of them will boil before than the other. The
vapor of that solution can be collected from a condenser in the container in a
pure form.

2. What is the reaction observed when Alka-Seltzer tablets were put in?
When Alka-Seltzer tablets were put in, it sank to the bottom and reacted with
water to make bubbles of carbon dioxide. The bubbles attached themselves to
the blobs of colored water and brought them to the top of the glass. When the
bubbles popped the blobs of colored water, it fell back to the bottom of the
glass.

3. Can a lava lamp be created using other solutions? Describe the process.
Yes, It can be created using other solutions. The lamps work using a bulb in the
base of the lamp (underneath the bottle) which heats the contents until the
wax becomes molten. It then slowly rises to the top of the lamp, where it cools
slightly, and sinks back to the bottom. This process is repeated, creating the
unique shapes in the water solutions.
