 The Production Process is complex (includes multiple
operations)
 The Demand for the Product is generally irregular
 Examples – automobile industry, Pump manufacturing
industry

 Process Manufacturing --
 It deals with liquids where the product flows in a liquid or
semi-solid form, or where the processed material cannot
be brought back to it’s original state or disassembled
 Batch oriented Production of Products
 Manufacturing can be in the form of continuous
production, discontinues production or regulated
production
 Examples – Fertilizers manufacturing, food processing ,
edible oil manufacturing , pharmaceuticals

 Repetitive Manufacturing –
 High repetition rates, high product stability and low
Product complexity
 A certain quantity of a stable product is produced over a
certain period of time
 Examples – Cold Drinks Manufacturing
