It is important as it hears and discusses problems faced by the villagers. They have recommend solutions to problems. All members should attend Gram Sabha meetings as it is a forum to discuss problems. Villagers themselves can be advisors to their problems.

Panchayat? A3. The Panch and the Gram Panchayat is answerable to the members of the Gram Sabha. It is because Gram Sabha elects the Gram Panchayat. In other words, Gram Sabha prevents Panchayats from misusing money or power. It keeps an eye on its elected representatives.

Panchayat? A4. The Gram Sabha consists of all adult citizens living in an area or village, who are 18 years of age and above. Gram Panchayat is the body of representatives elected by the Gram Sabha for a fixed period.
