DESCRIPTION FAPMO "Process" type pumps are mono-cellular centrifugal pumps, for horizontal assembly, in accordance with the dimensional specifications and characteristics of the standards NFEN 25.199 (ISO 5199), NFE 44.121 (ISO 2858 and DIN 24.256), Their "Process" design allows disassembling the complete rotating assembly, on the ‘motor side, without disassembling the suction and discharge pipi The electrically driven pump is equipped with a coupling spacer. which prevents havi to disassemble the motor in order to access the hydraulic assembly 3. OVERALL DESIGN 3.1. Electrically driven pump design (see the overall dimensional drawing 101 44 C 110 & the "Parts list” in the Appendix 1 ‘The electrically driven pump consists of the following elements: ~ One "process" type pump (see paragraph 3.2 p.5) ~ One motor (see "Motor" in the Appendix 5) ~ One coupling spacer (see “Coupling” in the Appendix 4) - One coupling guard - One base plate - Special equipment (upon potential request of the customer) (see "Equipment" in the Appendix). 3.2. Pump design (see the cross-section drawing 101 44B 87 & the parts list in the Appendix b ‘The "Process" type pump with a horizontal axis and a following components: suction, consists of the - One pump casing and suction cover assembly; ~ One casing cover with a built-in hydraulic seal: ~ One overhanging impeller: - One sleeve to protect the shaft at the hydraulic seal side; - One hydraulic mechanical seal (see "Hydratdic seal” in the Appendix 2) ~ One oil bearing frame (see "Bearing frame" in the Appendix 3). Damage that could occur as a result of this operation, particularly on the rotating mechanical seal, could jeopardise the staff and the environment. MOTOR (see "Motor" in the Appendix 5) COUPLING (see "Coupling" in the Appendix 4) - The coupling guard shall never be removed while the pump is running, - The pump shall never be started without this coupling guard. ‘The coupling guard is designed for protection purposes, and shall not be considered as a step, a support point, etc., under any cireumstance. EQUIPMENT (see "Equipment" in the Appendix) 5. TRANSPORT AND STORAGE 5.1. Delivery on site Pumps have been inspected and tested with care before shipment, in order to ensure their compliance with the specifications required. Inspect the pumps as soon as you receive them and look for any damages that could have occurred during transportation, Notify the carrier about any damages found. If the delay between receiving the pumps and starting them exceeds forty-five days. it will be required to turn the mobile component by hand (once a week) in order to lubricate the bearing frame and to avoid any possible binding. 20127 6 Page 7/16 FAPMO Appendix 35.37, Rue Roger SALENGRO - RP S9 - 62230 OUTREAU - FRANCE Tel 33 013.21, 1000.21 ~ Fay: 33.40)3.21 80.40 88 Email: Fapmoefapmoscom — hp : #6. fapane.com 5.2. Handling The overall dimensional 101 44 C 110 drawing shows the dimensions and the weight of the assembly and of the removable parts, as well as their layout. The slinging operations will have to take this information into account The electrically driven pump shall be handled in its operating position (horizontal), Damage occurring due (o improper handling of the products supplied, is not covered under our warranty. 5.3. Storage In general, the pump shall be placed in a dry and clean location, without any vibrations hor temperature variations. 5, -1, Storage for a period exceeding two months In the event of storage being required for a period exceeding two months and if the pump was placed in water afier delivery, it is recommended to proceed as follows ~ Drain and dry the pump casing after rinsing it with clear water: - Seal the suction and discharge apertures of the pump: ~ Seal the cable outlets; - Spray an anti-corrosion solution inside the pump, This solution shall be chemically compatible with the pump materials. Special instructions This pump is equipped with a mechanical seal, so please add the following operations to paragraph 5.3.1 p.7 ~ Drain and dry the mechanical seal; - Seal the supply inlets of the mechanical seal Note: In the event of storage exceeding 24 months, the mechanical seal shall be disassembled, inspected, the sides shall be ground in and the joints shall be changed before the start up. It is recommended to fill the oil bearing frame, in addition to the oper listed in paragraph 5.3.1 p.7. 3. Before start-up Operations to be performed before starting a pump equipped with a mechanical seal and an oil bearing frame: - Fill the pump with water, then rotate the shaft manually for a few rotations in order to release the friction faces from the mechanical seal - Drain the bearing frame and fill it up again. 6. ASSEMBLY / INSTALLA’ Maintaining the electrically driven pump only requires the usual tools of a mechanical and electrical service workshop. Due to the pump dimensions, no special handling equipment is required, 6.1, Positioning the electrically driven pump The pump and its motor should not support any abnormal constraints (mechanical, © oF expansion stress). Only remove the aperture caps for the connections, when connecting the pipes Seal the materials, in compliance with standard NFE 44.190, on a concrete support with a rated frequency very different from the vibration frequencies of the rotating parts. Level the electrically driven pump on its support by using steel shims under the base plate, then align the suction and discharge flanges of the pump with the flanges of the pipes (make sure that the flanges are parallel) hydraw 6.2. Connecting the motor ‘The cable and the gland shall have compatible diameters. Electrical protections shall be ensured in compliance with the electrical standards in effect. 20127 Page 9/16 Appendix FAPMO Rue Roger SALENGRO - BP S9 - 62230 OUTREAU Tel 33400321, MAOL2 » Fay: 334018.21.8046.88 E-mail: fapmoeefapme.com ~ hap sw. Checking the alignment The pump and the motor are aligned in the factory. They must be realigned after installing the unit and tightening the securing bolts on the base plate. The out-of-alignment values are given in the coupling manual (see”Coupling" in the Appendix#). ‘The pumps are supplied with the coupling spacer disassembled. Do not position the spacer before performing the operations in paragraph 7.1 p.9. 6.4, Connecting the pipes Clean the pipes before positioning them. Get rid of any foreign material (spatters, burrs, carbon deposits, rust particles, etc ...). Connect the pipes to the suction and discharge apertures of the pump. Pipes shall be supported and connected in such a way that they do not create any strain that could affect the alignment of the electrically driven pump or ereate distortion that could disturb the proper performance of the pump. ! ‘The pump shall not be subject to any ramming shocks. Ihe plan ar cuit has a quick-release or ultra-quick valve (time under I second), it is recommended to mming protection system for the discharge piping. The seals between flanges shall not create any peculiarity in the circuit, Make especially sure that they do not exceed the inside of the piping. 7. PUTTING INTO SERVICE / TAKING OUT OF SERVICE 7.1. Checking before implementation Perform the following actions before starting the pump: a) Make sure that the connection between cables and secondary pipes is proper (check that the supply pipes of the sealing device are properly connected (see "Hydraulic seat! in the Appendix 2).
