SAFETY When using the equipment, the operator must be especially careful with regard to the following points PUMP This pump can not run dry under any circumstance. Damage that could occur as @ result of this operation, particularly on the rotating mechanical seal, could jeopardise the staff and the environment. MOTOR (see "Motor" in the Appendix 5) COUPLING (see "Coupling" in the Appendix 4) - The coupling guard shall never be removed while the pump is running. - The pump shall never be started without this coupling guard. ! The coupling guard is designed for protection purposes, and shall not be considered as a step, a support point, etc., under any circumstance. EQUIPMENT (see "Equipment" in the Appendix) 5. TRANSPORT AND STORAGE, 5.1. Delivery on site Pumps have been inspected and tested with care before shipment, in order to ensure their compliance with the specifications required. Inspect the pumps as soon as you receive them and look for any damages that could have occurred during transportation. Notify the carrier about any damages found. If the delay between receiving the pumps and starting them exceeds forty-five days, it will be requited to turn the mobile component by hand (once a week) in order to lubricate the bearing frame and to avoid any possible binding. Damage occurring due to improper handling of the products supplied, is not covered under our warranty. 5.3. Storage In general, the pump shall be placed in a dry and clean location, without any vibrations nor temperature variations. 5.3.1, Storage for a period exceeding two mont In the event of storage being required for a period exceeding two months and if the pump was placed in water after delivery, it is recommended to proceed as follows: - Drain and dry the pump casing after rinsing it with clear water: ~ Seal the suction and discharge apertures of the pump; - Seal the cable outlets - Spray an anti-corrosion solution inside the pump. ‘This solution shall be chemically compatible with the pump materials, If you are not sure, please contact our technical department, Identification N° DTU.09.14140 D2 ar27c Page 8/16 FAPMO Appendix age Rue Roper SALENGRO - BP S59 - 62230 OUTREAU - FRANCE Tal | 334013.21.10.01.21 ~ Fax: 338(0)3.21 80.46.88 E-mail: fapmo fupmo.com = hip: vw fapmna.com This pump is equipped with a mechanical seal, so please add the following operations to paragraph 5.3.1 p.7: - Drain and dry the mechanical seals ~ Seal the supply inlets of the mechanical seal iz le In the event of storage exceeding 24 months, the mechanical seal shall be disassembled, inspected, the sides shall be ground in and the joints shall be changed before the start up. It is recommended to fill the oil bearing frame, in addition to the operations listed in paragraph 5.3.1 p.7. 5.3.3. Before start-up ‘Operations to be performed before starting a pump equipped with a mechanical seal and an oil bearing frame - Fill the pump with water, then rotate the shaft manually for a few rotation: release the frietion faces from the mechanical seal - Drain the bearing frame and fill it up again order to 6. ASSEMBLY / STALLATION Maintaining the electrically driven pump only requires the usual tools of a mechanical and electrical service workshop. Due to the pump dimensions, no special handling equipment is required. 6.1. Positioning the electrically driven pump, ‘The pump and its motor should not support any abnormal constraints (mechanical, hydraulic or expansion stress). Only remove the aperture caps for the connections, when connecting the pipes. Seal the materials, in compliance with standard NFE 44.190, on a concrete support with a rated frequency very different from the vibration frequencies of the rotating parts. Level the electrically driven pump on its support by using steel shims under the base plate, then align the suction and discharge flanges of the pump with the flanges of the pipes (make sure that the flanges are parallel). 6.2. Connecting the motor The cable and the gland shall have compatible diameters, Electrical protections shall be ensured in compliance with the electrical standards in effect. They must be realigned after installing the unit and tightening the securing bolts on the base plate, ‘The out-of-alignment values are given in the coupling manual (see “Coupling” in the Appendix). ! ‘The pumps are supplied with the coupling spacer disassembled. Do not position the spacer before performing the operations in paragraph 7.1 p. 6.4, Connecting the pipes Clean the pipes before positioning them. Get rid of any foreign material (spatters, burrs. carbon deposits, rust particles, etc ...). Connect the pipes to the suction and discharge apertures of the pump. Pipes shall be supported and connected in such a way that they do not create any strain that could affect the alignment of the electrically driven pump or create distortion that could disturb the proper performance of the pump. ‘The pump shall not be subject to any ramming shocks. is recommended to If the circuit has a quick-release or ultra-quick valve (time under I second), plan a ramming protection system for the discharge piping. ‘The seals between flanges shall not create any peculiarity in the circuit. Make especially sure that they do not exceed the inside of the piping. 7. PUTTING INTO SERVICE / TAKING OUT OF SERVICE 7.1.
