Excel is an Electronic Spreadsheet Program. An electronic spreadsheet is a
computer software program that is used for storing, organizing and
manipulating data.
Use of Excel
1. The ability to create new

• Mathematical calculation
• Define custom formulas
• Create High Appealing Report

2. Storing information of organization

and tracking like a list (sales leads,
project status reports, contact lists,
and invoicing)

3. Scientific and statistical analysis

with large data sets. Excel's
statistical formulas and graphing
can help researches perform
variance analysis, chi-square
testing, and chart complex data.

4. Make Your Job Easier & Better

Basic Excel
1. COLUMN
2. ROW
3. CELL
ABSOLUTE CELL (F4).

NUMERIC FUNCTION
No Numeric Function Use Formula
1 SUM Return total value between the range cell. =SUM(RANGE CELL)

2 SUMIF Return total value between the range cell with specific =SUMIF(RANGE, CRITERIA,
criteria. SUM RANGE)

3 COUNT Count range of cell that has numeric type. =COUNT(RANGE CELL)

4 COUNTA Count range of cell that has text type. =COUNTA(RANGE CELL)

5 COUNTBLANK Count range of cell that has blank cell. =COUNTBLANK(RANGE

CELL)

6 COUNTIF Count range of cell that has blank cell with specific criteria. =COUNTIF(RANGE,
CRITERIA)
7 AVERAGE Calculate average between cell range. =AVERAGE(RANGE CELL)
8 MAX Find maximum number between cell range. =MAX(RANGE CELL)
9 MIN Find minimum number between cell range. =MIN(RANGE CELL)
10 ROUND Round a value up or down as much as Y number behind =ROUND(NUMBER,Y)
comma.
11 ROUNDUP Round a value up as a Y number behind comma. =ROUNDUP(NUMBER,Y)

12 ROUNDDOWN Round a value down as a Y number behind =ROUNDDOWN(NUMBE

comma. R,Y)
LOOKUP FUNCTION
- VLOOKUP
- HLOOKUP
No Lookup Use Formula
Function
1 VLOOK Find certain value in master table
UP based on the key defined Vertically.

2 HLOOK Find certain value in master table

UP based on the key defined Horizontally.
LOGICAL FUNCTION
- AND, OR
- IF, NESTED IF
LOGICAL FUNCTION
No Logical Use Formula
Function
1 AND Return value of True if all condition fullfilI = AND(CONDITION 1,
CONDITION2,...,CONDITION N)

2 OR Return value of True if at least one of the condition =OR(CONDITION 1, CONDITION2,...,CONDITION

fullfilled N)

3 IF Check whether the condition fulfilled or not fulfilled, = IF(CONDITION, VALUE IF TRUE, VALUE IF
• if not fulfilled it will return certain value defined, FALSE)
• If not fulfilled it will return another value

4 LOGICAL IF Function Including AND or OR Function. =IF(AND(CONDITION1,CONDITION2),VALUE IF

IF TRUE,VALUE IF FALSE)

=IF(OR(CONDITION1, CONDITION2),VALUE IF
TRUE,VALUE IF FALSE)
5 NESTED IF IF function with another condition in the condition = IF(CONDITION1, VALUE IF TRUE,
created. IF(CONDITION2, VALUE IF TRUE,
IF(CONDITION3, VALUE IF TRUE ...... , VALUE IF
FALSE)))
AND = Return value of True if all condition fullfilI
FORMULA = AND(CONDITION 1, CONDITION2,...,CONDITION N)
OR = Return value of True if at least one of the condition fullfilled
FORMULA = OR(CONDITION 1, CONDITION2,...,CONDITION N)
IF Function
LOGICAL IF (IF + AND/OR)
FORMULA:
IF( condition1, value_if_true1, IF( condition2, value_if_true2, value_if_false2 ))
This would be equivalent to the following IF THEN ELSE statement:

IF condition1 THEN
value_if_true1
THEN
value_if_true2
ELSE
value_if_false2
END IF
