What activities do managers perform? What activities do leaders perform? Do organization need
both managers and leaders? Why or why not?

“Leadership is working with goals and vision: Management is working with objectives.”
Differentiating a leader and a manager is important for an organization’s success. It is
also vital to put the right person in the right role. Managers in a team are the ones who make sure
that the tasks of the team are being accomplished. They are the ones who has the vision of the
goal of an organization. They interpret ideas and actually coming up on plans of action.
According to Griffin (2016), managers focus on monitoring results, comparing them with goals,
and correcting deviations. As a manager, it is essential to make sure the organization is thriving.
On the other hand, a leader has a role of inspiring change towards his teammates. He should be a
visionary and should have an eye for the future. A leader should lead his teammates in a high-
level direction. He is important because he maintains the productivity in order to achieve the
goals of the organization.

In the improving world of business, it is important to have both leader and manager in an
organization in order to be effective. Management and Leadership is a great asset in an
organization because it can cause an orderly outcome in a team. Also, it plays a great part in the
success of the organization. The company must really find the right employees who possesses
these characteristics because these will lead the company in a great position in a long period of
time.
