SOP Guidelines

Need to prepare Statement of Purpose from your side.

 SOP should be written in your own words


 give specific examples - avoid quotes and general statements unless you can explain
them
 write about 3 to 6 (typed) pages

SOP should cover the following details:

 Explain about yourself


o previous study including:
➢ Qualifications (complete and/or incomplete)
➢ Name of the education provider/s
➢ Length of study
o Mention on the seminars, paper presentations, projects,events etc. with proper
proof to show
o Your soft skills and interests passion and on situation you have shown these.
o Work experience related roles and responsibilities , achievements , honour you
have received (if applicable)
 What and Why you chose your proposed program
o Be specific around what do you like from the course, the skills that you have that
can be an asset for the course or the skills you will gain from the course. What
specific things from the course are of your interest and why?
o Who has influenced your decision to do the course (personal or professional
people or experiences)
 How your proposed program is relevant to your previous study and/or employment
 What is your plans on completing the course
o What type of job would you like to go into? Which industry?
o Why?
o How does the course help you with your career prospects? What modules or
skills will be beneficial and how?
o Any personal or professional past experience influenced your decision to choose
this career path?
 Explain if any gaps between your studies
 Why you chose to study in <country of preference> and why this particular university
 Also explain why not in other universities which you have applied??
