2. To implement an alert system via text messages.
3. To design a dynamic website for live updates.

This report is the 1st and covers the period between: OCTOBER 28TH 2020 TO
NOVEMBER 17th 2020

Summary of work completed

Successful facial detection and recognition and to output the name in a live video feed. The
faces are stored in a folder which are trained using haarcascades in order for the detection and
recognition to occur in a live video feed.
Sending of a notification via sms using twilio and aws s3 cloud storage. Twilio is used for
sending the sms. The cloud storage stores the images for every successful facial recognition in
order to have a backup to the sms or the website which displays the name and time for a
successful facial recognition. The images are exclusively stored in the cloud as they are not
stored in the website and can be viewed for confirmation purposes using the timestamps
Deployment of a website which updates the name, time and location where a criminal has
been recognized. The website data cannot be edited ensuring data integrity.
