LESSON PLAN

Teacher: Merlin Mathew Grade / Class: 8 (A & B) Dates & Periods: 1ST June 2023
Subject: Chemistry

Learning outcomes: Recognize the effect of concentration with rate of reaction and how catalyst supports rate Planned differentiation activities:

Success Criteria:

Starter (5-10 mins): Start the class with ‘DO NOW’ slide with a starter activity.

Student Led Activities: A starter slide will be displayed on the projector, where students will answer two question using their previous knowledge and basic skills.
(STARTER ACTIVITY)

a. Write any 2 or 3 factors that affect the rate of reaction?


b. What do you think catalyst role in rate of reaction?

Main Activity (20-30 mins): A slide on catalyst will be displayed on the projector. Teacher will be taking students to explore on what do you mean by catalyst after
the few minute video. A video on catalyst that are used in real life will be shown, followed with a small explanation with an interactive session with kids. After the
explanation peer activity will be continued in class.

Student Led Activities


Differentiation based activities worksheet will be distributed among kids based on the topic “Catalyst.

Plenary ( 5-10 mins): Quick recap of the topic will be conducted in class i.e., short quiz on the topic explained will be conducted in class, where the classes will be
divided into two group.

Resources : Soft toy, paper weight, feather, bottle, soccer ball.
