I)What are the different structures of the cell?

The essential organelles present in the cell are as follows;

1) Cell Wall: The cell wall is a fully permeable membrane and is present only

in plant cells. It is present outside the cell membrane.

2) Cell membrane: It is a semipermeable membrane that is present in

both plant and animal cells. It protects the components of the cell. It acts as a
barrier and allows water molecules to pass through it. In plant cells, it is
enclosed by a cell wall whereas in an animal cell is the the outermost layer.

3) Cytoplasm: The cytoplasm is a jelly-like substance inside the cell. It helps

the cell to retain its shape and keeps the organelles of the cell secure.

4) Nucleus: The nucleus is the control center of the cell and it controls the

activity of the cell. It is surrounded by a nuclear membrane. The nucleus

contains chromosomes that contain the DNA.

5) Mitochondria: Mitochondria are small rod-like structures. They provide

energy to the cells and are known as the powerhouse of the cell.

6) Golgi Apparatus: Golgi bodies are large membranous sac-like structures

that are concerned with secreting hormones required for our body.

6) Vacuole: The vacuole is a fluid-filled space inside a cell. They contain a

sugary solution known as cell sap. Plant cells contain one large vacuole
whereas animal cells contain 2-3 vacuoles altogether.
