The world is full of differences.

From views, opinion, perspective and especially beliefs and

religion. Before anything else, what exactly is religion? Religion is a set of beliefs and practices. It
comprises our faith as s collective human individuals. I speak today to let everyone know mine. I am
from Catholic Church under the religion Christianity.

Christianity is the religion based on the teachings of Jesus Christ and Christians are followers
of these teachings. The Roman Catholic Church is a Christian denomination that accepts the
supremacy of the pope as the successor to Jesus Christ. The Church itself considers the qualifier
“Roman,” which derives from the geographical seat of the papacy. Catholic Church is believed tp
have been founded by Jesus Christ through the apostle Peter, wjo is considered as the first Bishop of
rome or pope. The world has more than one billion Catholics and with the ever growing population, it
will get larger in number. To be a Catholic means to have complete faith in God and his divine grace.
Having God’s divine grace means to obey it and keep it holy as it was created by God and given to his
people. Catholics believe the words remembered in The Apostles Creed; the oneness of God and the
Trinity, the incarnation of Jesus Christ as the Son of God, the meaning of the crucifixion, resurrection
and ascension of Jesus, the person and work of the Holy Spirit, the Church as the Body of Christ, the
Communion of Saints, sin and the means of salvation, and judgement and the world to come.

We, Catholics have practices and celebration. The Most common celebration is the mass
which is center of Catholic faith. We go to church every Sunday of the week. The mass is the highest
form of prayer. Listening to the liturgy and receiving the body and blood of Christ. It’s been 500
years, when Christianity was first introduced by Spaniards in the Philippines . Its been years since our
religion was build. The church exercises the 7 sacraments. Sacraments are efficacious signs of grace,
instituted by Christ and entrusted to the Church, through which Divine life is given. There are seven
Sacraments: Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist, Reconciliation, Anointing of the Sick, Matrimony, and
Holy Orders. Our first journey to God’s grace is the moment we are baptised. Free from original sin
and now, given a mission and purpose. Christian holy book is the Bible. We, Christians, celebrate
Christmas. A most special event in a yea. The birth of Jesus Christ. Roman Catholics also celebrate
the Holy week. Ask Wednesday, when priest put ashes in the form of a cross on the foreheads of
believers. Palm Sunday, by waving palm branches recalling Jesus’s entry to jerulasem. Holy Thursday
recalls Jesus’s last supper with his disciples, and Good Friday. That recalls his death. Black Saturday,
which a day of quite and prayer. Easter Sunday which is celebrated at dawb, recalls Resurrection of
jesus from the dead. Christians usually do abstinence or avoidance of pleasures during this period.

Being open in this world with this belief from my parents, which had a great devotion to
God, is something I’m proud to say. My faith made me grow as an individual. I am who i am right
now because of this. I am born Christian, lives as Christian and will die as a Christian. I am a
Christian not merely because I have Christian parents, but I am a Christian because I chose to, and I
want to follow the one and only God and believe in His Words.
