The scope of this study focused on determining the compressive strength of concrete after 28 days of curing and developing a multiple linear regression model to predict compressive strength. Predictor variables included cement properties and content, fine and coarse aggregate properties and content, and water-water ratio. The study was limited to a 28 day curing period and used a multiple linear regression model. Standard testing methods and specifications were followed to test materials and concrete cylinders. Thirty-six concrete cylinder samples were tested to develop the regression model in SPSS.

and Definition of Terms Scope and Delimitation Scope and Delimitation The scope of this study was focused on the determination of the compressive strength of concrete on the specified curing period and the development of the Multiple Linear Regression model for the prediction of the compressive strength of concrete. The study was limited only on the compressive strength of concrete at 28th day of curing period and the use of Multiple Linear Regression model with the compressive strength as the response variable. The predictor variables were the cement content and its properties. The properties of cement that were used as predictor were the fineness, final setting, mortar 28th day compressive strength, and the specific gravity. The fine aggregates content were also a predictor as well as the fine aggregates properties which among those are the soundness, absorption, loose unit weight, and the bulk specific gravity. The coarse aggregate content also served as the predictor along with the coarse aggregates properties such as soundness, absorption, loose unit weight, and specific gravity. The water content and the water – cement ratio was used as predictor. The water – cement ratios that were used were 0.4, 0.5, 0.6, and 0.7. The design mixture used were Class AA (1:1.5:3), Class A (1:2:4), and Class B (1:2.5:5). The fine and coarse aggregates came from Maribulan river quarry and the cement was bought from the local hardware. American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standards were used in testing the materials, the making and curing of concrete cylinder samples, and the test of the compressive strength of concrete cylinder sample. American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) and, American Concrete Institute (ACI) specifications were also used for the standard values of the test result of the materials properties and compressive strength. The number of specimen that was needed on this study is 36 samples. Multiple Linear Regression model was also used as the analytical equation in modelling. Lastly, statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS), was the statistical software that was used in computing the variables for the linear model.
