Describing the market structure on both the supply and demand sides.

Trying to initially identifing the general problem of the sector.

What have we done since last time?
What will we do in the next step to identify the main problem of the sector?
What are the main issues should be concerned?

Exploring the market structure

1. Describe the sector as accurately as possible

2. What type of competition exists in the sector?
3. In concrete terms, how can you explain the size of the market, the number of
competing companies, etc.?
4. Try to position the different players in relation to each other and how they
differ from each other.

Applying concepts and tools seen during the lectures

1. Entry barriers
2. Number of competitors on the market (Monopoly, oilgopole, PCC)
3. Number and types of buyers
4. Forms of competition between firms (differentiation, capacity, imperfect
