Introduction
Axel Thoms Lebensrettungseinrichtungen has supplied Escape Chutes
for many international clients.
We produce and supply Escape Chutes for more than 39 years.

Specifications of the Vertical Spiral Escape Chute AT-1


DESCRIPTION:

1.0 Specifications

Chute Construction:
The Escape chutes consist of two layers, outside layer and inner spiral
sliding layer.
All layers are UVA and water resistant.
All layers are certified according to OEkotex 100 standard – free from
hazardous contents.

Cold-resistance certification according to DIN EN 1876-1 at -40°C


Certification GL 3.1 C
(Additional cold-resistance certification from ‘Germanischer Lloyd’)

2.1 Outside layer – Made in Germany

Conform to DIN Standards EN 13501-1 class B - S 1, d0


The fabric temperature resistance is up to 540°C.

2.3 Support belts – Made in Germany:

The weight load is supported by 5 independent support belts.


Each individual belt has a load capacity of minimum 2.900
KG (breaking load), maximum 3.400 KG.

2.5 Sliding principle

The Inner layer is designed in spiral form to allow a controlled descend.


A detailed statement about the sliding behaviour of the escape chute
from TÜV is available, to certify the speeds and safety.
The maximum measured sliding speed is be 2,64 m/s.

2.6 Frame construction

The Escape Chute frames shall be made from quality steel (S235JR)
for best load capacity and with powder coating finish for long lifetime.

All connecting parts (bolts, screws, steel cables) shall be stainless steel.

A detailed report about the load capacity of the escape chute frame
design from TÜV is available, to certify the conformity with health and
safety requirements (analogue to elevator regulations).

2.7 Production

The manufacturing facility for the Escape Chutes has to be the vendors
own facility. Made in Germany.
TUV certificate on the inspection of the manufacturer’s product
manufacturing facility shall be provided.
The supplier and manufacturer shall be the same legal entity and the
entity shall be the holder of the certificate.

The system shall be tested and certified according to following practical


tests and verifications:
Strength test and load capacity test, tear strength test, prove of static
accordance and user safety, according to following standards and
directives:
