Instructions

▪ Write focused answers to the following questions.

▪ Take the print of this worksheet and submit it in an A4 size slim file and submit by 21st
August 2023.
▪ You must take 4 days to complete the task

1. Read “Hadith-e-Jibraeel” A.S from the book (Chapter 8) and

write the teachings of hadith related to the Articles of Faith. [04]
The Hadith of Jibreel, known as the Hadith-e-Jibreel, engages in
a profound discourse between the Angel Gabriel and the Prophet
Muhammad (peace be upon him), encapsulating the core teachings
concerning the Articles of Faith in Islam. Through a series of
inquiries, the Prophet's responses unveil the foundational beliefs
that define the essence of the Muslim faith. These teachings
encompass the belief in Allah's oneness (Tawhid), affirming His
sole right to worship; the existence of angels as divine messengers
and envoys; the recognition of divine scriptures, including the
Quran, as guiding lights for humanity; the acknowledgment of a
lineage of prophets, culminating in Muhammad (peace be upon
him), who conveyed Allah's guidance; the unwavering faith in the
Last Day, a time of accountability and justice; and the embrace of
Allah's divine preordainment and decree of all things. These
teachings, collectively termed the "Six Articles of Faith," serve as
the bedrock of Islamic belief, shaping the consciousness of
believers and fostering a comprehensive comprehension of the
divine plan that guides their lives. Subsequently, these beliefs
necessitate the observance of fundamental acts of
worship—engaging in prayers, offering zakat, fasting during
Ramadan, and undertaking the pilgrimage to the House of
Allah—provided one possesses the means to fulfill these
obligations. This synthesis forms the framework for understanding
the essential teachings and obligations of Islam In this hadith, the
Prophet (‫ )ﷺ‬defined Iman (faith) as inner belief, saying – “(It is) to
believe in Allah, His angels. His books, His prophets, the
resurrection after death, and belief in the good and bad of Qadar
(Divine Preordination).

2. Write one Quranic reference about the articles of faith. [02]

In Surah Al-Baqarah, chapter 2 verse 118, Allah states...-
‘Those who have no knowledge say, “If only Allah would speak to
us or a sign would come to us!” The same was said by those who
came before. Their hearts are all alike. Indeed, We have made the
signs clear for people of sure faith.’

Belief in Angels [15]

3. Who are angels and what is the purpose of their creation? [03]
Angels are part of an unseen world, yet Muslims believe in their
existence with certainty. They are made of light and were
Page 1 of 9
created before the creation of Hazrat Adam (AS). They are
created for the specific purpose of obeying Allah and his orders.
4. What are their characteristics? [03]
Angels are created from light. They are always honest and never
do anything wrong. Unlike humans, angels don't require food or
sleep. Plus, their essence is made entirely of light.
5. Write the duties of these 4 angels: [04]

a. Hazrat Jibraeel (AS) has the responsibility of bringing

divine revelations to Allah’s messengers.
b. Hazrat Mekaeel (AS) is responsible for rain, wind, and
sustenance for all living things.
c. Hazrat Israfeel (AS) is also known as the angel of death; he
has been assigned the task of taking away the souls of the
dying.
d. Hazrat Izraeel (AS) is the angel who will blow the trumpet
(Soor), on the day of the judgment.
6. Mention any two events when angels have come in human form. [02]
In Surah “Al-Dhariyat”, it mentioned that a group of angels
appeared in front of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) in a form of a human
being, they came to give the good tidings of the birth of a son,
Meanwhile in Surah “Al-Maryam” it is mentioned the appearing
of Hazrat Jibraeel before Hazrat Maryam (AS) and Hazrat Isa
(AS).

7. Write the names of three important pairs of angels with their duties
who deal with every human. [03]

Raqib and Atid are the angels that observe and record a
person's good and bad deeds respectively. They are responsible
for maintaining an individual's record of deeds until the Day of
Judgment.
Munkar and Nakir are the angels who question the deceased
in their graves about their faith and deeds. They ask questions
about the oneness of Allah, Muhammad's prophethood, and
the believer's deeds. These angels are responsible for
determining whether a person is deserving of reward or
punishment in the afterlife.
Kiraman Katibin (the noble scribes) are the angels that
record every good deed a person does immediately after it is
performed. They are responsible for recording good deeds so
that on the Day of Judgment people may be rewarded for their
good actions.

Belief in Divine books [10]

8. Mention the names of the four revealed books in order of revelation

with their Prophet’s name. [04]
First, The Torah (Taurah), was revealed to Hazrat Musa (AS).
Then was revealed the Psalms (Zaboor) to Dawood (AS). Gospel
(Injeel) was revealed at third to Isa (AS). The fourth book, which
was revealed to the Prophet ‫ﷺ‬, was the Holy Qur’an.

9. What is the important and central message of all revealed books?[02]
The most important and central message of all the books was
the worship of Allah, the one true deity, without associating
any partners with him.
10. Write a brief account of the authenticity of the Holy Quran with a
reference to the Quran and Hadith. [04]
Firstly, if we compare the older revelations and the Holy
Qur’an, the earlier guidance came as per the required time and
space, Meanwhile, the Qur’an on the other hand for all times
and all people, all times and space. Secondly, the older
revelations either have been lost or tampered like the Gospel, in
other words, none of the earlier revealed books are in their
original state or the language in which they were revealed.
Moreover, Allah himself had taken the responsibility of
protecting the Qur’an from alteration and corruption. In
addition to that, Allah mentions in the Qur’an in Surah
Al-Baqarah: ‘None of Our revelations do We abrogate or cause to be
forgotten, but We substitute with something better or similar’ (2:106)

Belief in Prophets [29]

11. What is the difference between Nabi and Rasool? [02]
A Rasool is a messenger of Allah that receives a new SHARIAT
(Devine law) and a book from Allah. Whereas, a Nabi is a
prophet that follows the SHARIAT of a messenger or a prophet
before him. Every Rasool is a Nabi, but not every Nabi is a
Rasool.

12. How many Prophets and Messengers were sent by Allah to the
different nations? [1]
Allah states in the Quran, in the Surah An- Nahl:
۟ ‫وا ٱهَّلل َ َوٱجْ تَنِب‬
َ ‫ُوا ٱلطَّ ٰـ ُغ‬
‫وت‬ ۟ ‫ۖ َولَقَ ْد بَ َع ْثنَا فِى ُكلِّ ُأ َّم ۢ ٍة َّر ُسواًل َأن ٱ ْعبُ ُد‬
ِ
And we certainly sent into every nation a messenger, [saying]
Worship Allah and avoid false deities. (16:36).

13. Who are the five Firm Resolute Prophets (Ool-ul-Azam)? [5]
it is generally accepted that ulu'l-azm refers to the five greatest
messengers, that are Muhammad (‫)ﷺ‬, Ibrahim (AS), Musa
(AS), Isa (AS), and Nooh (AS), and peace to them.
14. Why do you think Prophets were provided with miracles? [2]
To assist them in convincing people that they are indeed chosen
prophets who receive divine revelation, Allah gave them
different types of miracles. Such as, Musa (AS) was given the
staff and his hand, which would shine brightly like a shining
star.
15. Mention five Prophets with their miracles. [05]

The Miracle of Ibrahim (AS)

Ibrahim (AS) rejected the customs of his people. They worship idols that can
neither harm nor benefit them. One day, he destroyed idols without anyone
seeing him. When his men learned that it was Ibrahim (AS) who did this, they
prepared a huge bonfire and threw him in it. However, the fire did not
consume Ibrahim (AS) and did not affect him at all, for Allah Almighty had
commanded it not to burn him. The Almighty said: {They said, "Burn him
and support your gods - if you are to act. "Allah Said, "O fire, be
coolness and safety upon Ibrahim." And they intended for him harm,
but We Made them the greatest losers.} [Quran 21:68-70]

The Miracle of Salih (AS)

Allah The Almighty sent Prophet Salih to his people to call them to worship
Allah the Almighty alone, and not to associate any partners with Him. They
asked him to bring them proof of what he was saying, so Allah the Almighty
supported him with the miracle of the she-camel. Allah made a unique
she-camel emerge from between the mountain rocks. Some of them believed
him, but the majority of them disbelieved and intended to kill the she-camel.
Prophet Salih warned them saying: {And to the Thamud [We sent] their
brother Salih. He said, "O my people, worship Allah; you have no deity
other than Him. There has come to you clear evidence from your Lord.
This is the she-camel of Allah [sent] to you as a sign. So, leave her to
eat within Allah's land and do not touch her with harm, lest there seize
you a painful punishment.} [Quran 7:73]

The miracle of Moosa (AS)

Allah the Almighty Says (what means): {And what is that in your right
hand, O Moses? “He said, "It is my staff; I lean upon it, and I bring
down leaves for my sheep and I have therein other uses." [Allah] said,
"Throw it down, O Moses." So, he threw it down, and thereupon it was
a snake, moving swiftly.} [Quran 20:17-20] The staff was one of the
miracles given to Prophet Musa. By that staff, he defeated the magicians of
Pharaoh, extracted water from rocks, and turned the sea into land with the
permission of Allah the Almighty so that He would save the believers and
punish the disbelievers.

The miracle of Isa (AS)

The miracle of Prophet ‘Isa was that he cured the blind and the
leper, and gave life to the dead with the permission of Allah The
Almighty. He would design the form of a bird from clay, breathe into
it and it became a bird by the permission of Allah The Almighty.
Allah The Almighty Says: {And [make him] a messenger to the
Children of Israel, [who will say], 'Indeed I have come to you with a sign
from your Lord in that I design for you from clay [that which is] like the
form of a bird, then I breathe into it and it becomes a bird by
permission of Allah. And I cure the blind and the leper, and I give life to
the dead - by permission of Allah. And I inform you of what you eat and

what you store in your houses. Indeed that is a sign for you if you are
believers.} [Quran 3:49]

The Miracle of Prophet Muhammed (‫)ﷺ‬

When the unbelievers challenged the Prophet to perform a miracle. He
pointed towards the moon and by the will of Allah, it split into two.
“‘That the Meccan people requested Allah’s Messenger “to show them a
miracle, and so he showed them the splitting of the moon.” After some
time of staying in that state, it eventually converged back to its original
state. Although the disbelievers saw this event take place right in front of
them as clear as crystal, they still disbelieved calling the Prophet a
magician.

The Holy Quran. No Muslim can disagree that the final revelation from
the final Messenger ‫ ﷺ‬is the undisputed greatest of his miracles. The
miracle of the Holy Quran can be proven from multiple perspectives from
its historical precision, its linguistic perfection to the many prophecies it
accurately foretold. It is a book that was revealed to mankind through the
Prophet ‫ ﷺ‬that will remain unchanged until the end of time.

Above all, the Quran presents a challenge to mankind to produce the

likeness of it. A challenge that has lasted over 14 centuries uncontested.
That is why the Holy Quran is the greatest miracle of the Prophet ‫ﷺ‬.

16. Why do you think Prophets were necessary to convey Allah’s message?
One role of a prophet is to be a messenger for Allah like the angels.
Another role is to help and guide Muslims today and to help them
make correct and accurate decisions in their lives. Muslims believe

that prophets are to show an example of how Muslims should live
their life.

17. What are the attributes of Prophets?

Prophets are a great example of establishing loyalty, truthfulness,
reliability, selflessness, ethics, and passion. Besides these, they
live normal human lives and did not have the power to make
anyone accept their message. Additionally, the knowledge of the
future was only limited to what Allah revealed to them.

18. What do you understand with all these three beliefs and why are these
important for a Muslim?
Angels are a part of the invisible world, but Muslims have
absolute faith in their existence because it is a part of their
faith. Muslims hold that angels are made out of light with the
express intention of obeying Allah and carrying out his
commands. Muslims firmly believe that as a source of guidance
for humanity, Allah revealed books to various prophets. The
books were primarily sent so that each individual could learn
about the religion they had been given and understand their
duties to Allah and their fellow humans. It is essential for a
Muslim to believe in the prophets who spread the message of
Allah to humankind through the messengers sent by Allah to
spread the message of Islam.
In short, Muslims believe angels exist in the invisible world,
made out of light with the intention of obeying Allah. They
believe Allah revealed books to prophets as guidance for
humanity, allowing individuals to understand their duties and
religion. The Islamic faith emphasizes the importance of
believing in prophets to spread Allah's message.
