Book Report: I LOVE YOU SINCE 1892 by Undeniably Gorgeous

The I Love You Since 1892 is a Filipino Novel Watt pad story by Undeniably Gorgeous A.K.A

Binibining Mia. This books are categorized as a historical fiction because of the the adventurous

tragic love story of Juanito Alfonso and Carmela Montecarlos in the 19th century. The I love you

since 1892 has 900 pages and published in Creative Programs, Inc. on year 2018. The bestselling

book novel “I Love You Since 1892 was awarded as Novel of the Year by ABS-CBN Books at a

virtual author event featuring Project Foreword mentors Ricky Lee, Ardy Roberto and

Makiwander. Undeniably Gorgeous also known as Binibining Mia, the book's author, was

honored for "dominating the NBS bestseller list and infusing fresh life into the genre of historical

fiction in a Philippine setting.

The purpose of this novel is to give the people a bit of a background about the things happened

in the 19th century. The plot revolved around a lady named Carmela Isabella, who was born in

2015, and her travels to the Spanish time in Philippines on 1892. Carmela Isabella, Carmelita

Montecarlos, and Juanito Alfonso are the main character of the story. I Love You Since 1892

tells the story of Carmela Isabella, a spoiled future girl from Monte Carlo's wealthy class. As

everyone knows, after paying a visit to her grandma Carmina at her family mansion, she finds

that she has a great-grandmother named Carmelita Montecarlos who looks precisely like her.

Carmelita Montecarlos was her late great-youngest grandmother's child at the time. Her late

great-grandmother died terribly, according to her grandma Carmina. She drowns in a pond as a

result of her sad love affair with Juanito Alfonso, one of the wealthiest men in town, who was

shot and killed by an unknown shooter on his wedding day. Her adolescent adventure begins to

be full of wonder as she learns the story of her late grandma. When Carmela Isabela arrived in
the 1892 year, Her mission is to change the epic fate of her fourth grandmother, Carmelita

Montecarlos, and her grandmother's lover, Juanito Alfonso. Carmela Isabella found a diary with

a note on the cover at “ Ang pag-iibigan natin ay muling isusulat sa araw ng ikaapat na

pagkakataon” and she was taken back in time. She struggled to act like a 19th century woman

and to be the Carmelita from the modern world, but over time she finally managed to behave like

one. Her job is simply to prevent the death of her great-grandmother's lover, but it so happens

that she falls in love with Juanito Alfonso and fights the real Carmelita in the past. She managed

to prevent the death of Juanito Alfonso, and even if it breaks her heart, she needs to return to the

21st century where she truly belongs.

In the Novel I love you since 1892, the plot twist is very unexpected and spectacular because you

can get an information about the history and tradition in the Philippines when it colonialized by

Spaniards. The best part of the story and the best plot twist is when Juanito Alfonso knows in the

end that the girl she really fell in love is Carmela Isabella not Carmelita Montecarlos. This part is

sad but this is the best part for me because before Carmela Isabela back in the 20th century,

Juanito Alfonso is happy because he met Carmela Isabela, a girl from the future. He knows that

Carmela Isabela is in from the future and its hurt knowing that Carmela go in the year 1892 just

because to save his life from Carmelita Montecarlos. Despite of the pain he experienced he still

managed to achieve his dream, to become a Doctor. In other hand the worst part of the story

when Carmelita Montecarlos destroyed her chance to change the fate of Juanito Alfonso, because

of jealousy of Carmelita Montecarlos to Carmela Isabela and Juanito Alfonso, she doesn’t want

Carmela Isabela succeed to her mission, a mission which Juanito Alfonso will not die in that day.

In this story, many character is my favorite but my most favorite character is that is Juanito

Alfonso, and somehow I fell in love with his tenderness, and I couldn't help but admire the way
19th century men acted, spoke, and courted. Actually, I can identify with Carmela Isabella and

act like a stubborn brat if I find myself doing something I don't want. We fail to please our

families every time, and while we're still human, we can't help but do something that really

disappoints them. In that part of the story, I realized that love knows no borders. No matter how

tough the situation is, if you truly love someone, you will fight for him, no matter the cost,

whether it's your life or not. It's a very difficult situation to love someone so much that you don't

want to lose them when fate is against you. This story is truly a tearjerker because of its lots of

shocking and breaking events. In addition, it’s not just about loving a person, it also expresses

love for country, love for family, love for friends, love for oneself. Maybe that's why I fell in

love with this story. It has essence, purpose and lessons to be learned.

The author’s purpose of writing this story is as long as you love what you do, don't stop because

in the end, all your hard work will be worth it. The authors tell us about love can wait and we

should not waste the chance given. I would recommend this book because it's a very beautiful

historical love story, it's a great book, not only for teenagers, but also for the elderly, I'm sure

they can understand and love it. It's about love and sacrifice. Book lovers and those interested in

learning about things in 1892 will love this story. The story is really beautiful, especially for

those who like to read historical fiction. The historical concepts and little information of the

Spanish era in the Philippines will surely amaze you, they sacrificed for love, and this story will

definitely take you back to the 19th century. Moreover, I hope they will publish an English

version of this story so that others, especially those abroad, can read this amazing story.
