Summary:

The 2004 film "Troy" directed by Wolfgang Petersen is an epic historical

drama that retells the famous Trojan War. The movie is based on Homer's
ancient Greek poem, "The Iliad," and follows the story of the conflict between
the Greeks and Trojans.

The film begins with the abduction of Helen, the wife of Menelaus, by
Paris, a prince of Troy. This act sparks a war between Greece and Troy as
Menelaus seeks revenge for his wife's betrayal. The Greek army, led by
Agamemnon, sets sail to Troy to rescue Helen and conquer the city.

The movie showcases various battles and conflicts between the two
sides. The Greek warriors are led by Achilles, a legendary warrior known for his
strength and skill in combat. On the Trojan side, Prince Hector emerges as
their greatest defender against the Greeks.

Throughout the film, we witness intense battle scenes filled with

bloodshed and heroism. However, it also delves into deeper themes such as
love, honor, loyalty, and fate. It explores Achilles' internal struggle between his
desire for glory and his love for Briseis.

In conclusion, "Troy" is a captivating film that brings to life one of

history's most legendary conflicts. It successfully combines action-packed
battle sequences with emotional depth to create an engaging cinematic
experience. Whether one is familiar with Homer's "Iliad" or not, this movie
offers an entertaining summary of the Trojan War that will leave viewers
enthralled until its tragic end.
Lesson learns:

COLLEGE OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

One of the most significant lessons from the movie is the destructive
power of pride and ego. Achilles, portrayed as a fearless warrior, lets his ego
get the better of him. His refusal to fight for Agamemnon's army due to a
personal dispute leads to disastrous consequences for both sides. This
highlights how arrogance can blind us to reason and cause unnecessary
conflict.

Another lesson learned is the importance of loyalty and honor. Hector,

prince of Troy, demonstrates unwavering loyalty towards his family and city
throughout the film. He fights valiantly to protect his loved ones until his tragic
demise at Achilles' hands. This reminds us that staying true to our principles
and standing up for what we believe in is crucial, even in times of adversity.

Furthermore, "Troy" emphasizes the futility of war and its devastating

impact on humanity. The film showcases how greed for power can drive
nations into senseless battles that result in immense suffering and loss on both
sides. It serves as a reminder that peaceful resolutions should always be
sought before resorting to violence.

In conclusion, "Troy" offers valuable lessons about pride, loyalty, honor,

and war that are applicable even today. It reminds us to set aside our egos,
remain loyal to our values, seek peaceful solutions whenever possible, and
understand the consequences of our actions before engaging in any form of
conflict.
