Dear parents,

As we all are aware about the spread of conjunctivitis, outbreak within the community. To
ensure the wellbeing of the students and staff members, we request your cooperation. If
any child is diagnosed with conjunctivitis, immediately seek medical advice and keep them
home to prevent further spread to ensure a safe learning environment.
Conjunctivitis or pink eye is an irritation or inflammation of conjunctiva which covers the
white part of the eyeball.

Causes: Symptoms: Limit the spread:


• Allergies • Watery eyes • Avoid touching eyes
• Bacterial infection • Redness • Wash hands
• Viral infection • Irritation frequently
• Irritants: dust, • Itching • Don’t share towel,
pollution, pollen • Swollen eyelids handkerchief, food
• Direct or indirect • Sensitivity to light and personal eye
contact with equipments
• Blurred vision
infected person • Use goggles

Preventive Measures:
1. Don’t rub infected eye. Do warm or cold compresses to provide relief.
2. Don’t put a patch over your eye. It may worsen the infection.
3. Rinse your eyes a few times a day.
4. Don’t wear contact lenses.
5. Use disposable tissues for wiping watery eyes.
6. Sanitize your hands frequently with sanitizers.
7. Avoid straining your eyes with screening.
8. Don’t go to overcrowded places.
