The Risks of

Cigarettes
and
E-Cigarettes
According to PSA, There were 23.8 percent (16.6
million) adults reported as tobacco users in any form.
Overall, 18.7 percent (13.1 million) of adults currently
smoke tobacco daily with an average of 11 cigarettes
per day.

And....

Around 82 million vape users globally were estimated

by the Global State of Tobacco Harm Reduction in
2021, a 17% increase from 2020. 2.7 million Filipinos,
or around 3% of the world’s vape users, are among
these figures as of 2021. (National Nutrition Council)
CIGARETTES
A cigarette is a tiny cylinder filled with flammable substances,
usually tobacco, and wrapped in thin paper for smoking. The
cigarette is lit at one end, causing it to smolder, and the ensuing
smoke is inhaled orally from the opposite end. The most popular
mode of tobacco consumption is cigarette smoking. With each
inhalation, smoke exposes the body's tissues to over 7,000 toxic
compounds.
E-Cigarettes
Nicotine, cannabis (THC, CBD), flavorings, chemicals, and
other substances are delivered through e-cigarettes or
vaping products. When the device is turned on, the
battery heats the liquid in the cartridge and the atomizer
vaporizes it, releasing a mist that the user inhales. As a
result, e-cigarette use is generally referred to as vaping, a
word also applied to the use of comparable devices, such
as vape pens.
