RULES AND REGULATION ESSAY WRITING COMPETITION

SEC – 2023

1. General Rules:
 Participants are senior high school students or equivalent and varsity students from all over
Indonesia
 Each institution can send up more than one delegate.
 After being officially registered, participants will be registered to WA Group
 The essay is done individually
 Participants are only allowed to send 1 essay manuscript
 The essay submitted is an original work that has never been submitted to any competitions and
has never been published in any media.
 All forms of cheating and plagiarism will result in reduced scores, disqualifications and
cancellation the winner.
 The essay is done at school or at home and submitted on a predetermined schedule (18th
October 2023).
 All participants are obliged to attend the technical meeting on 17th October, 2023.

2. Essay Writing Provisions:

Performance rules:
1. Participants can choose the essay title below:
 E-Learning for Merdeka Belajar
 "Merdeka Belajar" and its benefits to teachers and students
 The philosophy of "Anakkon Hi Do Hamoraon Di Ahu" in the digital learning era

2. Speech script
Participants send the essay manuscripts to the committee with due regard to the following
provisions:
 The essay script is a script that has never been used in any essay writing competition
before. If the participant uses a script that has been used previously and is known by the
juries, participant will immediately be disqualified
 Essay manuscripts are original scripts made by participants and are not the result of
plagiarism. If a participant uses a plagiarism script and is known by the juries, the
participant will immediately be disqualified.
 The essay manuscript is typed in English using the 12 size “Times New Roman” font with
1.5 spaces, margin 4-3-3-3 and A4 size paper.
 Essay manuscripts are written at least 3 pages and maximum 5 pages.
 The essay author's name is placed under the title. Essay is typed with the following
conditions:
Font size 12
Times New Roman font
Space 1.5
Left, right, upper, lower typing limits 4,3,3,3
A4 paper size
 The essay manuscript contains 3 parts (it does not have to be stated explicitly), namely:
Introduction (contains background issues from the identification of the topic of discussion)
Content (discussion and analysis)
Conclusion (conclusions and suggestions)
3. Essay manuscripts are sent in soft copy pdf with the file name format: Full name_SEC_
2023_School Name_The first three words of essay title

4. The essay manuscript that is sent to be the right of the committee. The committee has the right to
publish the participant essays and the committee will write the author's name.

5. Assessment criteria:
The assessment criteria for the essay are as follows:
 The assessment consists of one aspect, namely the essay manuscript.
 This assessment is carried out by the Jury Team who has been determined by the SEC_2023
committee. Manuscripts that have been received according to a predetermined time limit will be
selected and the 3 best essays with the highest accumulated scores from the jury will be
announced on the closing ceremony (21st, October 2023)
 The jury's decision is absolute and inviolable

The aspects assessed in the selection are as follows:

number of pages, consistency and clarity of
expression.

6. REGISTRATION, PAYMENT, CONFIRMATION

1. Participants register to bit.ly/SECompetition23
2. Participants pay the registration fee, IDR 100,000,-
3. Participants must attach their personal identity (student card) at the registration form.
4. Participants can make the payment to Mandiri account : 107-00-1171715-6 ( Chandra
Turnip account) by including proof of payment via the confirmation link.
5. Participants will be confirmed by the committee of the competition via WhatsApp that
the participants have registered as a participant in the SEC Competition 2023

7. PRIZES
1. Winning:
1st Place : Cash + Certificate + Trophy
2nd Place : Cash + Certificate + Trophy
3rd Place : Cash + Certificate + Trophy
2. All participants get E-certificates
