There are a great number of traditions and customs across the world and lots of them are fascinating.
They could be related to birthdays, weddings, the New Year, religion, etc. Some people still try their
best to hold on to as many as they can but some others can have a different opinion on whether they’re
worth the time and effort. These people are starting to abandon their traditions and that is making them
disappear little by little. Sihem and Aya are two sisters who are obsessed with traditions and had a
great idea to celebrate them by organizing a costume party and contest for traditional clothing.
Sihem: Let’s go through the plan again so that we don’t forget anything, shall we?
Aya: Sure. We are sending the invitations on Tuesday and we are preparing the house on Friday. The
party will start at 2.pm this Saturday. You are giving the welcoming speech then, to welcome the
guests and also explain the contest.
Sihem: Exactly, you are then going to serve some traditional sweets, we have prepared baklawa,
Makrot and some Mkhebez. By 3.pm, the guests are going to start walking in the small run way we
have prepared to show us the traditional clothing they have chosen.
Aya: Yes, the judges are announcing the winner on Sunday morning.
Sihem: Oh which reminds me, the guests who live a bit far are staying in the guests’ room. I have
prepared extra sheets.
Aya: Awesome, then we are all set.
