1. Setting the Communication Unit
Turn off the power of the tester and disconnect the power cord from the main unit.
Remove the screws on the top of the tester to remove the cover.
Make necessary settings to the communication unit mounted on the left hand side (when viewed from the
front) inside the tester.

CAUTION
When removing the cover, do not touch unnecessarily
other parts of the tester.
If touched, the tester may not be able to operate at its
full performance.

How to Set
Remove the connector and the cover of the communication unit.
Set the baud rate and node address with the DIP switches.

Attach the cover of the communication unit, the connector, and the cover of the tester.

How to Set
Remove the connector and the cover of the communication unit.
Set the station number and baud rate with the rotary switches.

An M12 circular connector is provided on the rear panel of the LS-R902. (Cable-side connector is not
attached.)

Set each size in the initial setting of the PLC.

3. Settings Screens of LS-R902
3.1 Fieldbus Settings

Tap the “Fieldbus”encircled by the yellow line above. The Fieldbus A


screen shown on the right appears. N2 Enable(FBU)
The settings of Fieldbus depend on the option of the Grade. N3 Enable(FBU)
N4 Enable(FBU)
For N2, N3 and N4, select “Enable(FBU)”.
CSM-Module1
For N5, select “Enable(CSM Module1)” or “Enable(CSM N5
CSM-Module2
Module2)”.

[Note]
The difference between CSM Module1 and CSM Module2 is the size of input.
CSM-Module1: 4 bytes, CSM-Module2: 40 bytes
Be aware the I/O maps are different.

3.2 IP Address, Subnet Mask (N5)

Tap the “IP Address”or “Subnet Mask” encircled by the yellow line above. The selected screen shown on the
right appears.
Enter the IP address or the subnet mask.

3.3 Start Delay
When more than one LS-R 902 tester is connected and operated together, difference occurs in the time to start
Fieldbus communication. In that case, a communication error may be output temporarily.

To avoid the communication error, set the Start Delay to delay the detection of communication failure.

Tap the “Start Delay”encircled by the yellow line above. The screen shown on the right appears.
Enter the delay time.
Delay time range: 0 to 99 s

3.4 I/O Map

Two types of I/O map “LS-R900”and “LS-1842”are available.


For the LS-R900 Series, select “LS-R900”.
