Statement by the Chairperson

The Chairperson welcomed all the members to the CED departmental meeting and adopted the
following agendas.

Adoption of Agenda
1. Professional Development Plan
2. Staffing Plan
3. PgCHE for new recruits
4. Training on Larsen Bridge Software
5. AI training in Civil Engineering

1. Human Resource (HR) and Professional Development (PD) Plans
The chairperson presented the 12th Five Year HR and PD plans to all the members present.
After deliberate discussion, the years for respective study plans for all the CED members were
updated.
2. Staffing Plan
The number of staff required for the new programme and replacement for superannuating staff
was discussed and updated in the master plan.
3. PgCHE for new recruits
It was highlighted that Tshering Dendup and Kezang Yuden were the only members from CED
who have not undergone PgCHE course and it was decided that they would be going for the
course mentioned during SS2022.
4. Training on Larsen Bridge Software
The chairperson informed the floor that a webinar on Larsa 4D Bridge Software would be
conducted on 2nd September 2021 and faculty specialized in structural engineering were
requested to attend. Other faculty members were also invited for the webinar if interested. The
webinar will be conducted by LARSA Inc, USA from New York.
5. AI training in Civil Engineering
PL mentioned about a possibility of a training to be held on current trends in AI in Civil
Engineering by a Professor from NIIT, India. He asked the floor if they would be interested to
participate and informed that he would be floating the details of the training and then collect
the names of the participants and seek approval from management.

Closing Remarks

The chairperson acknowledged all the members for their presence in the departmental meeting,
AS2021.
