CONDITIONALS
There are two kinds of conditional sentences: real and unreal.
Real Conditional describes real-life situations. Unreal
Conditional describes unreal, imaginary situations.

[ if + condition + result]
or
[result + if + condition]
This structure can produce, for example, the following sentences:
If I see her, I will tell her.
I will tell her if I see her.
Notice the comma in the first sentence. (A comma is always correct in this case, but not always
essential if the sentence is short.) In the second sentence we do not normally use a comma.

Sometimes, we use shall, can or may instead of will, for

You will need a lawyer if you get arrested.
If she practices every day, she’ll be a great dancer.
(-) NEGATIVE
If they don’t pass the exam, they’ll have to repeat the course.
You won’t get promoted if the boss sees you sleeping at work
(?) INTERROGATIVE
If it rains tomorrow, will you stay at home?
Are you sleeping in your room, if the cockroach is still there?
Examples
If I go to my friend's house for dinner, I will take a bottle of
wine or some flowers.
When I have a day off from work, I’m going to go to the
beach.
If the weather is nice, she walks to work.
Jerry will help me with my homework if he has time.
I will read if there is nothing on TV.
A: What do you do if it rains?
B: I’m going to stay at home.
A: Where will you stay if you go to Sydney?
B: I’ll stay with my friends near the harbor.

(?) INTERROGATIVE
If it snowed in Tijuana, would you be surprised?
What would you do, if you found a million dollars?
Examples

If I had a day off from work next week, I would go to the
beach.
I am busy next week. If I had time, I would come to your
party.
Jerry would help me with my homework tomorrow if
he didn't have to work.
If I were you, I wouldn’t piss her off.
If I didn't have to work tonight, I could go to the fitness
center.
I would buy that computer tomorrow if it were cheaper
