Pre-lesson: Pupils are asked about celebrations in Malaysia.

Lesson delivery:

1. A page from a calendar is shown to pupils. Teacher asks

what day and month is it.

2. Teacher writes on the board. It’s Monday, 11 October

(what we write), Monday the eleventh of October (what we

say).

3. Pupils are informed about the formation of ordinal numbers

with the ending th. A few exceptions- first, second, third

4. Pupils refer to textbook page 37 and guess what are the

pictures and words are about.

5. CD 1 53 is played. Pupils listen and sing along.


Post-lesson: Pupils practise and come to the front in groups

to perform the song.

Pre-lesson: A few dates on the board. Pupils practise saying

the dates in ordinal numbers.

Lesson delivery:

1. Pupils refer to textbook page 37 Activity 3. Pupils listen to

Track CD1 54.

2. Pupils chorally repeat the exchange.

3. Pupils copy the table in their exercise books.

4. Pupils are briefed about the activity. Teacher introduces

how to make exchange more natural with comments such as

Really? ….That’s soon. Teacher demonstrates with pupils.


5.Pupils in pairs take turns asking and answering questions.

Pupils fill in the table in their books with the correct dates.

Post-lesson: Pupils are called out randomly to share the

ordinal numbers for the dates in the table.

Pre-lesson: Pupils share other celebrations or special days in

Malaysia. International Woman’s Day, World Book Day…

Lesson delivery:

1. Pupils refer to textbook page 38 and read the story. Track

CD1 56 is played to guide the pupils.

2. Pupils share the words that they do not understand and


teacher writes them on the board.

3. Pupils look up the meanings of those words in the

dictionary.

4. Pupils answer a few comprehension questions based on

the story. 1. Where are the children going tomorrow? 2. What

are Layla and joey going to dress up as the parade

tomorrow? 3. What costume does Ahmad choose?

Post-lesson: Pupils conduct a think-pair-share session on

what they will dress up as if they go to the parade.

39. Pupils are guided to look at the ways to answer in full

sentences based on questions in future form. Pupils can also


recap on cursive writing using the Cursive Writing Booklet.

Lesson delivery:

1. Pupils are asked about Independence Day parade. Pupils

conduct a think-pair-share session to share their ideas for

their costume during the parade.

2. Pupils are briefed about the activity. Pupils draw their

costume for Independence Day parade and describe their

costume in a paragraph with cursive writing.

3. Pupils draw their costume and describe their costume in a

paragraph with 5 sentences (M). Pupils are guided to draw

and describe their costume in 3 sentences.

Post lesson: Pupils put up their drawing for a gallery walk.

Main: 4.2.4 Describe people and objects using

Complementary: 4.1.2 Use cursive writing in

things needed to make a kite and things needed for sewing.

4. Pupils each are given an empty kite template. Pupils

design and decorate their kite template.

Post-lesson: Pupils put up their kite design on the wall for a

gallery walk.
