3.2 A Brief on Function and Setting

3.2.1 Description Of Standard Functions

1、Up-Down Operation
In the automatical situation, up/down command is input to the integrated drive controller
through outdide key, which activates the up/down operation. The outside switch is of automatical
reset.
2、Inspection Running
If the main board of integrated drive controller is in inspection, the auto input point is of no
signals, the system is in inspection mode. Outside, through up/down button of inspection handle, the
escalator is activated by inching. The escalator inspection running speed can be modified through the
main board parameter adjustment .The interlock against up-down handle simultaneous operation 第
should be set outside. 三
3、Automatical Oil Filling 章
The parameter setting can specify the interval between the oil fillings and the filling
time. If the escalator continuous running time reaches the set value, a continuous relay
signal will be sent to start the oil pump for filling. After a set period of time, the relay

signal stops. The filling can only be done during escalator running. For temporary it can

not match the pulse oil filling equipment.

4、Running Situation Display

Different running situations can be displayed through the handset or on-borad operator, like
inspection/auto, up/ down, safety loop, running mode (normal/energy saving), fault, fire and so on.
The escalator running direction can be output through the relay and displayed by the outside
light indicator
5、Historical Fault Log
Fault code, time and troubleshooting time, first running time and direction can be recorded.
The fault historical logs can be read through handset or on board operator, including fault
code, fault time, fault code definition, fault time escalator running situation(up/down/stop),
troubleshooting time.
6、Energy Saving Operation
Support casual low speed operation or casual pause mode. Not support bi-directional
auto operation mode. When the escalator photoelectricity has no person passing during
the set period of time, the system turns to casual low speed mode. And after a set period
of time, the system truns to the casual stop mode. For the Y-ᇞ operation, the casual
mode is directly to stop.
7、Stair Loss Check
When main processor pulse value between X12 and X13 is bigger than set value, or the
interval between two pulses is bigger than set value, the system takes it as stair loss, and
the escalator will be emergently stopped. Meanwhile.X12,X13 take self checking. If
during running, the signals continuously input with high or low electricity level, then it
will judge the check switch has problem and activate problem.
8、Escalator Speed measurement
Measurement point is fixed on the main gear. The escalator pulse number is recorded
with 200ms refreshing frequency, and it is compared with the set benchmark value. If

3-1
Shanghai STEP Electric Corporation

the differential between the current value and the set value is more than 20 %, the
escalator will be emergently stopped for protection
9、Handrail Speed Measurement
Check the pulse number of the stair speed measurement between every two pulses and
compare it with the set benchmark value, if the differential between the current value
and the set value is more than 20 %, it means handrail speed is wrong
10、Anti-reverse protection: through two escalator speed measurement points, compare
Phase A and Phase B, and confirm the escalator direction by the differential between
phase A and B, and compare to the set direction.
12、 Escalator Smart Stop
Normal stop: Non emergent fault stop, press the stop button, the controller turns off all the
第 outputs.
三 Emergent Stop: At the time of emergent fault like overspeed, reversion, drive chain breakage,
章 the controller turns off all the outputs, meanwhile stop the additional brake output.
Soft Stop, use the key switch to make reverse-direction continous input over 3S (against the set
operation direction), the conreoller will stop in the condition of uniformly deceleration
产 13、 Alarm Bell
品 The bell will be on at the time of overhaul’s first startup and normal running startup. Bell time
功 is also set for the situation of direction or cover plate stolen.
能 14、 Running Direction Indicator
The controller will provide 2 ouput points for the auto-escalator running direction. The output
will be kept after the end of casual situation. It will be stopped only at the time of stop signal input.
15、 Contact Anti Adhesive Check;
The controller provides the check for the contact point. It is used when there is no outout, the
input point has no output ,then next time operation controller will not have output until the input
point recovers.
16 Brake Switch Check
When the operation starts, the controllers outputs the brake signals, check the input point of the
brake switch, if the output of the brake switch is not off, then means the switch fault. Turn off the
output and send the fault signal.

Optional Function
1、Running Monitering
Currently it can moniter the fault log, the current operation direction, casual situation, auto
maintainnence/fire (if more need for the monitoring board, please check the manual for the escalator
monitoring software)
2 Bypass Conversion Operation
When the parameter F0 is set to “1”,at that time the system goes into the mode of bypass
conversion operation., During the escalator running, the converter get started, it will uniformly
accerlerate to full speed, then the controller make the auto switchover to working frequency through
Y-ᇞ contact. The startup is finished
In the set period of time, the photoelectricity switch does not receive the signals; the controller
will automatically switch to conversion operation and meanwhile lower the frequency to the set

3-2
AS330 Escalator Intrgrated Drive Controller

value to adjust the escalator speed to satisfy the need of energy saving.
3、 Fire Function
For the normal escalator, all stops. For fire escalator, down operation stops,up-operation keeps
normal, at that time the system will shield casual function.
4、Up-Down Machine Room Theftproof Check
In the auto situation of up-down machine room theftproof check, the theftproof switch works
but the cover plate check switch is not active, fault alarm will be on and the escalator will stop.
5、Water level Check
The monitoring point of the monitoring water level has input, the controller will output the fault
information and turn off the output.
6、Lubrication Oil Level Check
When the oil level check point has outputs, the controller will give the fault signal, to indicate 第
the oil feeding. The escalater at that time still keeps running. 三
7、Overheated Motor Check 章
Overheated motor protection, when the motor overheat switch get the input signal, the
controller will output the fault signal and turn off the output.
8、Brake Wearing Check 产
Brake wearing protection, when the brake wearing switch gets the input signal, the controller 品
output fault signal and turn off the output 功
9、Additional Brake Function 能
This function has 2 logics(check situation,auto situation)
1) In the check situation, input the up-going signal, output the additional brake signal. After
additional brake is powered on, check its switch signal, if it goes normally, keep going,
if not, then the controller cuts off the output and records the fault. But it will return to
check situation, if continuous 3 checks turn out to be problem, then it is needed to cut
off the power and reset the fault.
Input the down going meanwhile check the switch signal, if it is abnormal, then stop
operation.
For non emergent stop for the escalator, the additional brake do not work.

2) In the auto situation input the up-going signal, output the additional brake signal. After
2S, check its switch signal, if it places normally, keep going, if not, then the controller
cuts off the output and records the fault. But it will return to check situation,if
continuous 3 checks turn out to be problem, then it is needed to cut off the power and
reset the fault.
Input the down-going signal, output the additional brake signal. After 2S, check its
switch signal, if it places normally, keep going, if not, then the controller cuts off the
output of the switch signal and brake signal.
For non emergent stop for the escalator, the additional brake cuts off the output after set
period of delay time.
3) For the normal operation, the conditions that the additional brake cut off the output are
overspeeding, reverse, drive chain breaking off.
10、Alarm Indicator
Rolling display for the fault information and event list.

11、Fault Information Display

The controller checks out the outside and inside faults, which can be displayed through fault
displayer or shown and checked through the handset operator.
12、Safety Switch Monitering
Safety loop switch monitoring can be made through ES.02/B safety chain fault collector. If the
safety switch gets off, the fault information can be sent through CAN Bus to the fault displayer or
handset operator.
13、Fault Memory
The controller checks out the outside and inside faults, automatically restore the time, code and
troubleshooting time. Check through the handset operator.

breaker. Phase sequence of input power is not related to the sequence of terminals R/L1, S/L2 and

T/L3, any terminal could be connected.

章 b) To reduce the conduction and radiation interference of the drive controller over input power, the

noise filter may be provided at the power side. This filter can reduce the noise ingress into the

drive controller from power cable and also reduce the noise outflow from the drive controller to

梯 power cable.

体 Caution

Special Note: Please use the specific noise filter for the escalator integrated drive controller.

Fig. 4.16 Preferred Anti-interference Measures

4.5.4Relationship between Wiring Length and Carrier Frequency

四 If the wiring between the escalator integrated drive controller and the motor room is too long, higher
章 harmonic leakage current will be increased due to the influence of wire distributed capacitors, which
might enable over-current protection for the drive controller output and produce adverse impact on
surrounding equipment and the motor. Hence, preferably, the wiring between the escalator integrated
电 drive controller and the motor room shall not be more than 100m in length.
梯 If the length is over 100M, please adjust the carrier frequency by referring to the Table below and
一 select the appropriate output-side filter and reactor.

default is 3 .Generally, speed sensor vector control mode is used, so basically this
parameter default to 3. But some commissioning sites require the parameter to 0 for
temporary to move the car position before encoder installation to make the converter run in
open loop V/f control mode. Be careful, before the hoistway self learning, the encoder
must be installed and wired, and recover F201 to 3.

Suppose rated frequency is f(F205), rated speed is n(F206), motor polarity is p (F208) then
Slip Frequency=f-((n×p)÷120)
For example, rated frequency is 50Hz, rated speed is 1430rpm, motor polarity is 4 then

down, from converter receiving command for output stop to actual current output zero. 参
Generally this parameter default is 0. For some special occasions when convertrer current 数
rapidly goes off, bringing about the big noise from the motor at the time of eascalator stop,
this parameter can be increased suitably. However this parameter can not be too big,
should not be more than the delay time of main contact release. Otherwise it turns out to
be contact arc discharge at the time of contact electric release, reducing the contact life
span. In addition, the converter can not have current due to the loop off after contact
release.
F229——Compensation Torque Direction Adjustment Parameter: This parameter is used when to
start pre-load compensation function. Generally, the factory default is set to 0 . But if

disturbance occasion, suitably increase the filter time to increase the system
anti-disturbance ability.
F233——Encoder Feedback Direction: 0: negative sequence 1: positive sequence the default is 1.

7-7
Shanghai STEP Electric Corporation

Generally do not need to change it but if it happens that encoder get wrong wiring causing
feedback direction discordant with the actual direction. It can be adjusted through F233
parameter modification.
F234——Motor Phase Sequence: generally, F234 is set to 1, but if motor running direction is
reverse to the required direction, change from 1 to 0 through F234 to turn the motor
direction
F235—— Motor Empty Load Current Coefficient: Set the proportion of tractor empty load current
and rated current. The default is 32%. Generally do not need to modify this parameter.
F236—— PWM Carrier Frequency: More carrier frequency, less motor noise, but more wearing
down. Normally user does not need to set it, just use the default(6kHz). If the situation
really requires reducing the motor noise and increase the carrier frequency, it will cause
more wearing down due to more carrier frequency. Thus when the carrier frequency is
over the default value, every 1KHz up, the converter need to be 5% derated in use
F237——PWM Carrier Frequency Width: Normally user does not need to set it, just use the default
to operate. Its function is to make carrier frequency automatically change within this
scope of width. In some occasions, it has effect of reducing motor noise. For example,
F236 is set to 6KHz, F237 is set to 0.4KHz, then theactual converter carrier frequency will
automatically change within the scope of 5.8~6.2KHz
F238——Adjustor Mode: Normally default is 1, standard adjustor mode

when over this time , the escalator will automatically switch to working frequency .
F245——F246~F255 Parameter functyion Options: To modify this parameter will change the
definitions of F246~F255, scope 0~6,default is 0
When F245=0
F246—— Heatsink Overheat Protection: Integrated drive controller will activate the protection after
a set period of continuous heatsink overheating.
F247——Over Speed Protection Coefficient: Integrated drive controller activates the protection if
the motor running speed goes over the protection coefficient set by this parameter for a set
period of overspeed protection time .
F248——Overspeed Protection Time: To set motor continuous overspeed protection time.
F249——Input Open Phase Voltage Threshold Value: Bus voltage fluctuate beyond this value , and
continuous 150 working frequency power cycle, then it is judged to be input open phase.

input voltage goes down by the parameter set value, report it to be No. 144 fault.
In that at the initial time of site commissioning, 114 fault was reported when temporary
power capacity was not enough and no improving condition on site. When power on or
off, the turn-on and off voice of relay inside the converter is available, that means the
charging relay of the converter is not damaged. Modify converter parameter to satisfy the
escalator running of this temporary power. The way of realization is as follows:
Turn the default of F253 from 45 to 90; therefore the escalator is able to run under the low
power capacity supply. Recover the parameter to 45 when the normal power supply is on
after the end of the site installation.
F254——Speed Curve Option 0: acceleration/deceleration time o , 1: acceleration/deceleration
time 1 2: port choose acceleration/deceleration time 3: communication choose
acceleration/deceleration time
F255——ABZ Encoder Breaking Off Protection Threshold Value: Default is 20%. When
synchronous motor uses ABZ encoder , if the feedback speed deviation exceeds this
threshold value, then judging encoder breaking off. Converter reports it to be No. 12 fault

When F245=2

F246---- Special Function parameter: 8: slip compensation is decided by the motor parameter 32,

Under voltage fault is also recorded at the time of no running.
F247——PWM Commissioning Mode: 0: 5 segment 1: 7 segment 2: <40%rpm 7 segment,> 5
segment, when low speed ,the integrated drive controller have more disturbance for the
external, for example when CAN communication signal is not good , modify to 0(5 功
segment), it will have obvious effect, meanwhile reducing the converter heating, however 能
it will cause low speed converter more noise 参

automatically change after three phase current balance coefficient get calibrated. If it is
synchronous motor, triggering asynchronous self learning command will turn on output
contact, calibrate the three phase balance coefficient, this function is to reduce motor
fluctuatuion and increase the comfort.
Three phase current balance coefficient self learning is as follows: First enter motor self
learning mode of commissioning menu via handset operator, press “Confirm” the
integrated drive controller output KMY turn on command to turn on thr output contact,
then three phase current sensor calibration self learning, the operator will show “learning”,
about 30 senconds later learning get successful and it will show”learning done” At that
time set F245 to 2, observe F250 which will be one value between 800-1200(can not be
1000). F 250 is defaulted to be 1000, after learning this valur will not be 1000, otherwise

Appendix A EMC Installation Guide

From such aspects as noise control, wiring requirement, grounding, peripheral equipment surge
absorption, leakage current, EMC Zoning, installation precaution, use of supply filter and disposal of
radiated noise, this appendix describes the escalator integrated drive controller EMC design and
installation guide for reference by escalator integrated drive controller users.
A1Noise Control

As determined by operating principle, the escalator integrated drive controller produces certain
noises. The effect of noise on peripheral equipment is relevant to the noise type, transmission path as
well as the design, installation, wiring and grounding of drive system
A1.1 Noise Type
Noise types are shown by Attached figure A1.1.

A-2
AS330 Escalator Intrgrated Drive Controller

1. Susceptible peripherals and their signal lines must

be arranged far away from escalator integrated drive
controller. Furthermore, the signal line shall be of type

grounded. Signal line shall be threaded into metal hose
and arranged far away from the input/output cable of

grounded metal hose. (Four-core cable may be
appreciable for motor cable. One end of a core
conductor shall be grounded to the escalator integrated
drive controller side and another end shall be
connected to motor casing.
A2 Requirements on Cable Laying
A2.1 Requirement on Cable Laying
As shown by figure A2.1(a): To prevent mutual coupling of interferences, control signal cable must
be laid separately with supply cable and motor cable and be spaced as far as practicable. as shown by
figure A2.1(b): where the control signal cable has to cross over supply cable or motor cable, they
must be perpendicular with each.

A

E
M
C

A2.2 Requirements on Cable Size 南
Greater cable size causes greater ground capacitance and greater ground leakage current. Therefore,
motor cable with excessive cross-sectional area shall be used by derating so as to reduce output
current (each increment of cross sectional area makes current decreasing by 5%).
A2.3 Requirements on Shielded Cable
High frequency low-impedance shielded and armored (such as weaved copper wire mesh or,
aluminum wire mesh) cable shall be used.

A-3
Shanghai STEP Electric Corporation

A2.4 Requirements on Installation of shielded cable

Control cables are mostly shielded cables which shielding-purpose metal wire mesh must be
connected to metal casing by 360° girth jointing method with cable clip at both ends, as shown by
figure A2.2. In addition, the figure A2.3 shows an incorrect shield grounding method.

Figure A2.2 Correct Shield Grounding Method

Figure A2.3 Incorrect Shield Grounding Method

A3 Grounding Requirements
A3.1 Grounding Method
See figure A3.1 for grounding method of Ground pole

Figure A3.1 Dedicated Ground Pole

Among the above-shown four figures, (a) shows the optimal grounding method. Users are advised to
use this method as practicably as possible.
A3.2 Precautions for Grounding Connection

A-4
AS330 Escalator Intrgrated Drive Controller

(1) Use grounding cable of standard cross section as far as possible in order to minimize the
grounding impedance; due to flat cable has smaller high-frequency impedance than round-section
cable, therefore, flat cable with identical cross-sectional area will be more preferable.
(2) The ground cable should be as short as possible and the grounding point should be close to the
escalator integrated drive controller as practicably as possible.
(3) If four-core cable is used for motor line, one of the four core conductors must be grounded in
such a way that one end of it is grounded by the side of escalator integrated drive controller and
another end is connected to the ground terminal of motor. The optimal grounding effect may be
achieved if each of both motor and the escalator integrated drive controller has individual dedicated
ground pole.
(4) Where all ground terminals of system components are combined together, the noise source
caused by ground leakage current will affect the other peripherals of escalator integrated drive
controller. Therefore, in a same control system, the grounding for escalator integrated drive
controller shall be separated from those for weak voltage equipment such as computer, sensor or
audio devices.
(5) To get smaller high-frequency impedance, the anchor bolts of equipment may be used as
high-frequency terminal connecting rear panel of cabinet. Note to remove insulation coating around
the securing point in installation.
(6) The grounding cable must be laid far away from the I/O wirings of noise sensitive equipment.
In addition, the grounding cable must be as short as possible.

A4 Install Surge Absorption Device

Even if they are installed outside or escalator integrated drive controller, such heavy noise
production devices as relay, contactor and electromagnetic brake must be additionally provided with
surge suppressor. As shown in Figure 4.1.

Figure 4.1 Use Requirements of Relay, Contactor and Electromagnetic Brake 南
A5 Leakage Current and Countermeasures
Figure A5.1 shows the wiring capacitance, motor capacitance, ground leakage current and
line-to-line leakage current by the input/output side of escalator integrated drive controller. The
intensity of leakage current depends upon the carrier frequency and capacitance.

A-5
Shanghai STEP Electric Corporation

Figure A5.1 Paths of Leakage Current

A5.1 Ground Leakage Current
Ground leakage current not only flows by escalator integrated drive controller but also flows by
other equipment via the ground wire. As a result, it may cause malfunction of leakage protection
circuit breaker, relay or other equipment. The leakage current increases with the increment of carrier
frequency of escalator integrated drive controller and the extension of motor cable.
Suppression measures: reduce carrier frequency; shorten motor cable as practicably as possible; use
leakage protection circuit breaker specially designed for leakage current due to higher
harmonic/surge.
A5.2 Line-to-Line Leakage Current
As for leakage current flowing by the distributed capacitance between I/O side cables of escalator
integrated drive controller, its higher/sub harmonics may cause malfunction of external thermorelay.
Especially when small capacity escalator integrated drive controller under 7.5Kw is used, and at the
same time, long wiring (more than 50m) is provided, the increased leakage current is liable to make
malfunction of external thermorelay.
Suppression Measures: reduce carrier frequency; install AC output reactor at the output side;
monitor the motor temperature directly with the temperature sensor; or use electronic thermorelay,
the motor overload protection integrated to escalator integrated drive controller instead of external
thermorelay,

A6 Suppression of Radiated Emission

Escalator integrated drive controller is usually installed in metal control cabinet, the external
instruments and equipments are lightly affected by radiated emission of escalator integrated drive
controller. Therefore, the external connecting cables are deemed as the main source of radiated
emission. Due to the supply cable, motor cable as well as the control cable and keyboard cable are
all necessary to be led outside of the shielding cabinet; the cable outlet must be so treated specially
to avoid impairing the shielding effects.
In Figure A6.1: the cables in the shielded cabinet acts as an antenna, which absorbs the radiated
noises in cabinet, transmits outside via cables and emits them to the space; in Figure A6.2: ground
the cable’s shielding layer at the outlet of the shielded cabinet, thus the noise radiation absorbed by
the cable will flow to earth directly via the shielding cabinet so as to eliminate its effect on external
environment.

A-6
AS330 Escalator Intrgrated Drive Controller

When using the shielding layer grounding method as shown in figure A6.2, the shielding layer must
be grounded as close to the cabinet as possible, otherwise the sectional cable from grounding point
to the outlet of cabinet will still act as an antenna coupling. The noise grounding point shall not be
more than 15cm from cable outlet of cabinet, and smaller clearance will always be more preferable.

A7 Guide for Use of Power line filter 附

Power line filter may be used by heavy-noise protection devices and noise susceptible devices. 录
A7.1 Functions of Power line filter A
(1) The power line filter is two-way low pass filter which only permits flowing of DC current or
50HZ operating frequency AC current but stops flowing of higher frequency electromagnetic
interference current. Therefore, it can not only inhibit the equipment’s electromagnetic interferences E
flowing into power line but also inhibit the noises in power line flowing into equipment. M
(2) The power line filter may be able to make equipment meeting EMC requirements on conducted C
emission and transmission sensitivity. In addition, it may also suppress the radiated interference of 安
equipment. 装
A7.2 Precautions for Installation of Power Line Filter 指
(1) In the cabinet, the filter shall be located close to the power line inlet as practicably as possible. 南
Additionally, the filter supply line section left in the control cabinet must be as short as possible.
(2) Where the input line and output line of filter is too closely laid, the high-frequency interference
may bypass the filter, couple directly with output line and input line and as a result make the power
filter failing to function.
(3) Usually there is a dedicated ground terminal on the casing of filter. However, if this ground
terminal is connected by a conductor to the cabinet body, the filters will not functions due to the long
conductor with great high-frequency resistance can not plays the role of a bypass. Correct

installation method shall be such: closely laid the filter casing on the conductive plane of metal
cabinet so as to maximize their contact area. Note to remove the insulation coating during
installation in order to ensure good electric contact.
A8 EMC Installation Zoning
n the drive system constituted by escalator integrated drive controller and motor, the escalator
integrated drive controller and peripherals such as control devices and sensors are usually installed in
a same control cabinet. The interferences of control cabinet on external environment may be
inhibited by taking suitable measures at the main contacts, therefore, the supply line radio noise filter
and supply line AC reactor shall be installed. In order to meet the EMC directive, the interiors of
control cabinet shall also be arranged in accordance with EMC requirements.
In the drive system constituted by escalator integrated drive controller and motor, the escalator
integrated drive controller, brake units and contactors are all heavy noise source which may affect
the normal operation of such noise sensitive peripherals as automated assembly, encoder and sensor.
On the basis of electric characteristics of peripherals, they will be installed at different EMC zones in
order to spatially isolate the noise sources and noise receivers. This is an effective measure for
eliminating interferences.
See Figure A8.1 for EMC installation zoning for escalator integrated drive controller.

Figure A8.1 EMC Zone for installation of escalator integrated drive controller
Description of above shown EMC zoning for installation:
I zone: Control supply transformer, control device and sensor
II zone: Control signal cable interface requiring certain anti-interference capacity
III zone: Main noise sources including input reactor, escalator integrated drive controller, brake
unit, contactor and the like
IV zone: Output noise filter and its wiring
V zone: Power supply (includes wiring of radio noise filter)
VI zone: Motor and its cable

A-8
AS330 Escalator Intrgrated Drive Controller

These zones shall be separated by minimum 20cm in order to realize electromagnetic decoupling; for
better decoupling effect, ground separator is preferred among the zones. The cables shall be laid and
arranged by zone; if necessary, filters shall be installed at interfacing point between zones; all the
bus cables led out from cabinet (e.g. RS485) and signal cable must be shielded.
A9 Precautions for Electric Installation
See Figure A9.1 for electric installation of escalator integrated drive controller.

A

Figure A9.1 Electric Installation of escalator integrated drive controller In order to meet the EMC
directive, the following notices must be taken: E
(1) Escalator integrated drive controller shall be installed in a cabinet where the base plates of M
escalator integrated drive controller and such peripherals as input filter will be secured on the rear C
panel in order to ensure good electric contact; the escalator integrated drive controller and filters 安
must be arranged as close as possible within 15cm in order to minimize the high-frequency 装
impedance of their grounding line and reduces high-frequency noises.

(2) Install a wide ground terminal bank at the inlet (5cm or less from outlet) of control cabinet and 南
than secure all the shielding layers of cabinet in/out cables onto the terminal bank by 360° girth
jointing method in order to ensure good electric contact.
(3) Motor cable shall be of type shielded cable and it is more preferable to use shielded cables with
such two shielding layers as spiral metal belt and metal mesh. By the escalator integrated drive
controller side, the shielding layer of motor cable shall be connected, by 360° girth jointing method
and with cable clip, to the rear panel of cabinet at two points: one point shall be close to escalator
integrated drive controller as far as possible within 15cm, another point is located on ground
terminal bank. 360° girth jointing method shall also be used when the motor cable’s shielding layer

A-9
Shanghai STEP Electric Corporation

threads through motor terminal box and grounds at motor metal casing; if it is impractical, firstly
strand both shielding layers as braid, then flatten it to width of more than 1/5 braid length in for
connecting to motor terminal. The core conductor of motor cable and its PE soft braid lead shall be
as short as possible within 5cm.
(4) Terminal control cable must be of type shielded cable, which shielding layer should be
connected to terminal bank at the cable inlet of cabinet by 360° girth jointing method; the shielding
layer end connecting escalator integrated drive controller may be secured to the metal casing of
escalator integrated drive controller. If impractical, firstly strand both shielding layers as short and
wide braid, and then flatten it to facilitate connecting to the PE terminal of escalator integrated drive
controller. The uncovered section of cable core conductor and the PE soft braid lead shall be as short
as possible within 15cm.
⑸ Keyboard cable shall not be threaded out from the shielding cabinet.
The slot holes on shielding cabinet shall be as small as possible within 15cm in length.

A10 EMC Conformity

The AS330 series escalator integrated drive controller conforms to the EMC directive as shown by
attached Table A10.1 provided that suitable input/output filters and AC reactors (see “Optional
Parts” for the type of optional filters and reactors) and installed and the above-said precautions are
carefully taken.

Notice to customers

Dear customers:

RoHS is the English abbreviation of the Restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in
electrical and electronic equipment. EU implemented the RoHS on July 1, 2006, it regulates the
