Personal Statement

About my shot description, I'm Billy Chan who is currently 17 year old that
are studying in Lai King Catholic Secondary School. Our senior school
form are consisted of totally six subjects, four of which are core subjects and
the remainders are external subjects. Within the electives, I have chosen the
ICT(Information and Communication Technology) subject for my second
choice. This is the main reason that I require to select the Computer Science
subjects in University.

Besides that, ICT teacher and my mum always encourage me to select

Computer Science. MC Liu, my ICT teacher has taught me when I was a
Form one student. Within five year period, his fascinating speaking skills
and way of teaching inspired me a lot. When I have some difficulty in
certain areas, I always consult him immediately because I' am very curious
of certain ICT subjects. But still the precondition is my hobby and expertise
are mainly surrounding the computer categories, for instance: programming
studies, algorithms, computers theory etc. My mother is also my biggest
supporter, she encouraged me to choose ICT and the Computer Science
subjects because I often spend a lot of time in writing programming, therefore
she thinks that I should be loyal to my own interests.

In terms of Computer Science, it is basically the essential subject in the

Computer industry. When comparing with Computer Engineering,
Computer Science is quite popular because of the depth of the investigation
and the variety of knowledge about the computer internal system, for
instances: the functions and utilization of Central Processing Unit, Random
Access Memory, Cache Memory etc. But the most increasing area in
Computer Science is the Programming portion, for example: Java, Python,
Pascal, C/C++ etc. These kind of programming languages requires a high-
tech of logical operating organization, coding implementation and the system
accuracy, it also includes high level of complexity and user requirements.

In addition, Computer knowledge are divided into different aspects, hardware

and software. Both of which have their own theories, that I'm interested to
