Definition of Terms

Educational Technology. Is the combined use of computer hardware, software,

and educational theory and practice to facilitate learning.1

Facilitating Learning. "An individual who enables groups and organizations to

work more effectively; to collaborate and achieve synergy. He or she is a 'content

neutral' party who by not taking sides or expressing or advocating a point of view

during the meeting, can advocate for fair, open, and inclusive procedures to

accomplish the group's work" – Michael Doyle2

Instructional Materials. Are any collection of materials including animate and

inanimate objects and human and non-human resources that a teacher may use in

teaching and learning situations to help achieve desired learning objectives.

Instructional materials may aid a student in concretizing a learning experience so

as to make learning more exciting, interesting and interactive. They are tools used

in instructional activities, which include active learning and assessment.3

Integration. They defined it as "a process of interpenetration and fusion in which

persons and groups acquire the memories, sentiments, and attitude of other

persons and groups and, by sharing their experience and history, are incorporated

with them in a common cultural life.4

Microsoft. Is a discontinued family of client software, server software, and

services developed by Microsoft5

PowerPoint Lesson Presentation. Is a presentation program used to

create slideshows composed of text, graphics, and other objects, which can be

displayed on-screen and shown by the presenter or printed out

on transparencies or slides.6

Software Programs. Is a set of computer programs and

associated documentation and data.7

Technology. Is the application of knowledge for achieving practical goals in

a reproducible way.8

Textbooks. Are produced to meet the needs of educators, usually at educational

institutions. Schoolbooks are textbooks and other books used in schools9

Technology for Teaching and Learning. Is any type of learning that is

accompanied by technology or by instructional practice that makes effective use

of technology. It encompasses the application of a wide spectrum of practices,

including blended and virtual learning.10

Usage. Is the ways in which its written and spoken variations are routinely
employed by it speakers; that is, it refers to "the collective habits of a language's
native speakers"11
