California Center for Native Nations


Personnel: 6 affiliated faculty Annual budget: None. Some activities supported through the Rupert Costo Chair in American Indian Affairs. Year established: 2002 as a virtual center; center gained an office in 2007. Major focus of research: American Indians with a strong focus on California native nations.

Stem Cell Center


Personnel: 38 faculty, 2 staff Year established: 2007 Annual budget: $206,487 Major focus of research: Understanding the basic mechanisms that control stem cell function and deciphering how stem cells can be used to improve human health.

Air Pollution Research Center


Personnel: 4 faculty, 5 staff Year established: 1961 Annual budget: $1,265,858 Major focus of research: Conducts basic and applied research in atmospheric chemistry and in the effects of air pollution on plants.

Center for Disease Vector Research

Major focus of research: Utilizing the knowledge of insect biology toward the control of insect pests.

Water Science and Policy Center

Survey Research Center

Center for Invasive Species Research
