On this day in 1965 at sardar post located in the Rann of kutch,
Gujarat, the CRPF achieved a legendary feat unparalleled by any police force around the globe. We have resisted a full armed brigade of Pakistani regular army with a mere strength of our two companies. We have in icted heavy loss to the Pakistani brigade by eliminating 34 of them and capturing four alive. In the process we lost 6 of our brave hearts who made supreme sacri ce while protecting our motherland . Ever since then April 9th is celebrated as valour day every year.
The force has been in the forefront on all matters related to
national security, from counter insurgency to VIP Security, CRPF is operating in all theatres across the country and serving the national cause with utmost dedication, as evident from our motto “service and loyalty “. The occasion of valour day provides motivation to force personnel to further work towards the cause of national unity and cherish the ideals of our Force.
We are all blessed and fortunate to have the presence of the
honourable chief minister amongst us on this special occasion. The 120 BN further owes courtesy to all other senior dignitaries who have blessed the occasion with their presence. The unit has been deployed in Meghalaya since a decade , we have very much amalgamated ourselves with the ethos and values of the state of Meghalaya in general and Garo society in particular. On this occasion, the unit is motivated to further its dedication to the well being of whole Meghalaya.
