ABSTRACT

Teaching young children is challenging in this trying times. To help

every child to fill the box with more parts and become more productive in
the school where they belong. Enabling the children to much more is
what the teacher imagined or dared to for it will greatly help in later years
of life. But the question is a big “ How” ? How can we teach the children
reading this time that we don’t have a face to face classes?

The Grade I- teachers of Dansolihon Elem. School had this reading

intervention “ Nanay Turuan Mo Akong Magbasa “ This time of pandemic
the mother is the parateacher of their children because we are in a
modular distance learning. Teachers will give printed copies of Unang
Hakbang sa Pagbasa Gamit ang Marungko to parents to help them
teach their children read.

How would the teacher know that the parents have taught them
how to read? They will have to sign every pages of the booklet , it
signifies that their child have already read the passage. After this
pandemic, when we will be back in the normal way of teaching we will be
having a reading assessment. We will let the children read the reading
passages.

Giving the best that a teacher knows what teaching is all about is
worth after all the children acquired knowledge and skills in early years
of education specifically on reading readiness. Some children may need
more help than other. Each child is a work in progress but with the
appropriate intervention to the problems, it will be resolved.

Effective module or material used in the Grade I classes is

important. Teacher, then, should be able to use innovative material or
module to make and provide differentiated instructions to the pupils to
promote good performance in the level as well as in school in general.
