Grading:

In-class participation: *Blog (ten posts): 30%

Oral Reports (x3): 25%
Self-study: 15% (International Salon / BESTEP)
**Final Exam: 30%

*You will have one week to complete your blog posts. Posts made later than one week will be penalized
one grade. Posts made later than two weeks (14 days late timed at 12:05) will receive a ‘0’ score.

**You can earn one extra point on your final exam score for each Weekly Discussion Paper you upload to
Cyber University. This will be timed to 12:05 on the day of the class, so don’t forget to submit it on time!

Attendance:

Perfect attendance: +4 points to overall score

1 absence: +2 points to overall score
2 & 3 absences: No change to score
4 absences: -4 points to overall score
5 absences: -8 points to overall score
6 absences: Fail course
*Students arriving 10 minutes late will be charged a .5 absence.
*Students arriving 30 minutes late or more will not be able to sign the attendance paper and will be
charged one full absence.

Plagiarism / Academic Honesty:

You need to do your own work. If you copy your information from an outside source or ask someone else to
complete an assignment, you will receive a score of 0 for that assignment. If this happens twice, you will
fail the course.
