Repub of i Pilippines Department of Health (OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY [November 22022 Advisory No. 27 ‘Urgent Reminder to Ramp-Up COVID-19 Vaccination among the Pediatric Population ‘This Advisory is issued o instruct all Regional/Local Vaccination Operation Centers (®LVOCS), Implementing Unts, Vaccination Sites to ramp up the COVID-19 vaccination among the pediatric population specifically to inerease primary series coverage among children aged to 11 yeas oldand te fist booster vaccination among 12 to 17 years old Following the issuance of Executive Order (EO) No. 7 allowing voluntary wearing fof masks and the announcement of the Department of Education (DepEd) allowing optional wearing of face masks inside the classrooms, all R/LVOCS and Implementing Units are hereby directed te ramp up vaccination operations to reach the pediatric population, specifically to: 1. Review LGU data on COVID-19 vaccination to identify and prioritize areas with With high numberof unvaccinated, due for 2nd dose and booster dose; 2. Mapping of unvaccinated and due for 2nd dose of primary series children in schools, schedule vaccination date, and set up temporary vaccination site nearby schools in coordination with school administration; 3. [Identify COVID-19 champions o patronize the COVID-19 vaccination and alleviate vaccine hesitancy; 4. Reiterate effective laymanized risk communication materials to address reasons for ‘vaccine hesitancy and retusa; 5. Mobilize BHERTS in locating individuals who have recovered ftom COVID-19 disease and review this vaccination satus together with their household members, and promote vaccination‘o eligibles; 6. Continuously collaborate with NGA, local chief executives, medical societies, civil society, private sector, and developmental partners; 7. Remind general public hat the best way to protect the community against any new COVID-19 (sub)variant or even post COVID-19 condition, more commonly known as “Long COVID" is to continue practicing minimum public health standards (wearing the best fiting mas, isolating the sick, ensuring adequate ventilation), get ‘vaccinated as soon as possible AND boosted once eligible.
