When you want to integrate solutions to each other or create extensions for your SAP solutions, you need to
go with the SAP Business technology platform - the SAP BTP. In addition to that, the SAP BTP covers the
topic to gather a value out of all your collected data with capabilities for data storing, data management,
planning and prediction. The SAP BTP offers a lot of capabilities for application development, automation,
integration, data, and analytics, as well as artificial intelligence. When you plan to use the SAP BTP, you can
choose between three commercial models: pay-as-you-go, Cloud Platform, Enterprise Agreement or CPEA,
and subscription based. Depending on the commercial model you choose, you are more flexible in changing
what you use and what you pay for. Pay as you go or PAYG is a fast and easy way to jump start integration
with SAP BTP, Cloud Platform Enterprise Agreement or CPEA, allows for the consumption of Cloud credits
based on actual usage. Subscription lets you choose a fixed set of services for a fixed rate regardless of actual
consumption. In addition to that, in the pay as you go and the CPEA commercial model, you can consume
free tier capabilities that offer BTP functionalities at no cost with defined restrictions. Every SAP BTP
contract starts with a global account that can be separated in several sub accounts and optionally directories
for more structuring. Inside of the sub accounts, users, developers and administrators are consuming the
services, applications, and subscriptions of the platform. In addition to that, the platform and it's runtimes can
be used to deploy and host the custom written extensions or custom developments. You need at least one sub
account to consume SAP BTP capabilities. The SAP BTP cockpit is the central user interface for
administering and managing your SAP BTP accounts. There you can manage the account structure, create
services, manage security settings, and more.
