8:30 am High Schools begin arriving.

9:15 am Call for all students in their seats in Concert Hall

9:20 am Welcome and Announcements

9:30 am REHEARSAL #1 (85 minutes minus 7 minutes for student conductor, time TBA at
Dr. Saplan’s discretion.)

10:55 am BREAK (15 minutes)

11:10 am REHEARSAL #2 (60 minutes minus 7 minutes for student conductor, time TBA at
Dr. Saplan’s discretion.)

Teachers may visit The Madison Singer’s 11:30 am - 12:35 pm (SOM 142)

12:10 pm LUNCH (75 minutes)

1:25 pm REHEARSAL #3 (40 minutes)

2:05 pm BREAK (15 minutes)

10:15 am REHEARSAL #7 (60 minutes, minus 7 minutes for student conductor, time TBA at
Dr. Saplan’s discretion.)

10:15 - High school Directors meet with ACDA Exec in the Green Room for feedback session

11:15 am CHORALE to set up risers (15 minutes); then dismissed until 1:20 pm! (Please eat in this break!)
11:15 am High School Singers LUNCH (75 minutes, including travel time)
(This lunch block has been extended to give everyone a chance to take pictures on the Quad and
enjoy some downtime!)

Concert Hall Sound Checks for Performing School Choirs:

12:20 pm - Dominion High School (My-Van Nguyen)
12:28 pm - Spotswood High School (Jordan Davidson)
12:36 pm - Lightridge High School (Helai Rutan)

12:30 pm TRAVEL (15 minutes) to RECITAL HALL for A Cappella performances

12:45 pm A CAPPELLA performance in Recital Hall

1:20 pm Students travel back to Concert Hall

1:30 pm DRESS REHEARSAL #8 (70 minutes, including run of student conductor piece) on risers!

2:40 pm LOGISTICS RUN (20 minutes) (led by the ACDA Exec Team)
3:00 pm Chorale SOUNDCHECK with Amy and Dr. Piitz on the risers! (10 minutes!)
3:00 pm HS Singers: DISMISSED TO CHANGE INTO CONCERT ATTIRE
Female-identifying singers change: 3:00 until 3:20 at latest, male-identifying singers taking a
break with liaisons outside. (F1115 & restrooms; gender neutral changing room in the
designated dressing room behind the concert hall)
Male-identifying singers change: 3:20 until 3:40 at latest, female-identifying singers taking a

3:50 pm CALL FOR ALL PERFORMERS IN THEIR CONCERT PLACES

4:00 pm CHORALFEST CONCERT

4:01 pm Welcome from ACDA and JMU Choral Activities

4:05 pm 3 high school choir ensembles perform (12 minutes)

4:12 pm Chorale come to the backstage from F-1115

4:17 pm Chorale: Who Can Sail Without the Wind? (4 minutes)

4:21 pm 6-minute pause: Chorale report to lineups or Choral Balcony

4:27 pm Choirs enter!

4:29 pm Combined ChoralFest Festival Choir!
