1. What are the symptoms that Sarah is presenting with so far?
a. Besides presenting complaints (body aches, fear of cancer), what additional
problems do you notice in Sarah’s case?
Sarah reported the following issues:
 She’s worried about her husband’s work situation.
 She’s forgetting things.
 Difficulty in sleeping
 Doesn’t Eat well and lost about 5kg
 Sarah feels pain all over the body, such as knees, head, stomach, and a tingling
sensation in her left cheek.
 She’s also worried about having cancer
2. What additional information have we gathered?
Additional information gathered:
 Pain is worse when upset like head is going to explode and hands starts shaking
 Burst of anger to children
 Not taking care to children
 Not doing routines such as cleaning and cooking

3. What additional information have we gathered?


Additional information gathered:
 Self-blame
 Feelings of sadness
 Crying a lot
 Feelings of hopelessness

4. With these presentations, what must you assess before Sarah leaves your office?
 Risk for suicide and self-harm
 History of thoughts or plan to commit suicide in the past year in a person who is
currently violent, agitated and distressed.
