BLKMARKET© Trash Machine – 1.0.

Thank you for purchasing trash machine. Your support goes further than you could ever know
and enables us to continue developing these products. Please don’t redistribute.

Install: Double click “Trash Machine.atn”. Once Photoshop opens, click “Window” then
“Actions” to show the Actions panel. To use Trash Machine, choose the layer you’d like to trash
and click the play icon.

Important note about color: At the moment, Trash Machine works best on white artwork and
text. You can always change the color after the effect is run, but due to the way the action
works, the initial artwork should be white. We’re working on a method that retains the original
color and hope to release an update asap. To change the color or apply effects, select the
result group and click “Fx”.

Effect Overview:

Gaussian Blur: Used to simulate bleed in a similar manner that might occur in print.
Adjust the slider to change the intensity of the effect.

Threshold: Fattens or thins out the bleed effect.

A lower threshold results in a looser effect and a higher threshold results in a tighter effect.

Crystallize: Adds edge noise.

Displacement: Don’t get intimidated by this, it’s actually pretty straightforward. When
prompted, select a displacement map from the “Grunge Maps” folder you downloaded. The
lower the value, the less severe the effect will be.

Field Blur: A more customizable method of simulating the ink bleed effect. Click on the canvas
to add new blur points. Adjust the blur intensity with the circle that surrounds the point. You
can add as many or as few points as desired to adjust the effect to your liking. Optionally
disable Gaussian Blur entirely when using Field Blur.

It’s important to let the action run all the way through. Don’t click cancel half way. If
there’s an effect you don’t want visible, wait for the action to finish running and toggle
the effect by clicking the eye icon beside the effect name.

To change the color or apply effects, select the result group and click “Fx”.
